You and your teammate just died. What's your strategy for coming back?

I'm interested in what people think about this situation. I see most people will try to go simultaneously so both can use their invincibilities at the same time for maximum stage control, but I know some people that prefer staggering to try to get one player going and their teammate capitalizing and following up with their fresh invincibility. I'm sure others have different ideas too.

What do you like to do in this situation and what do you think is the best strategy? How do stages, characters, playstyles, etc affect this for you?

This happens so little in a match that you shouldn't even come up with a strategy for it.

Depends on the situation, if one of them is at kill % both players should go for the kill ready person. One player aggressively goes at him, the other there to guard his back and keep the other guy away.

If not that:
If im "better" than my partner i take the character who is a harder MU for my partner, if my partner is better than me i take the easier MU for myself.

Going simultaneously is better IMO, especially if you're targeting a high % opponent.

Lol @ some of the useless posts on this thread already. There is no harm in maximizing your chances of winning.

Actually this happens at least once a match typically, especially because a lot of times when you die your partner will be near-dead without any hope of being saved, so you just wait on the respawn platform so you can both come back at the same time.

That is so many different situations that you cant cover it as "one option".

Dying the last stock as one player, and 3rd as the other, timing a glitch that makes both players have one stock left (frametiming och stock stealing) is ideally something good to use.
Has only seen it happen once or twice (only in friendlies XD) during my 5years in competing though.

This happened to me recently. Here's how I solved it: first I got a tech-chase knee against BOTH of my opponents. Then my teammate and I 0-to-deathed our opponents separately on opposite sides of the stage.

It's always better for both characters invincible at the same time because usually in teams you have to rely on team strategy in order to win, so if both player force a basically auto 2v1 situation right away after respawn then it's a greater opportunity to take the stock quickly. You gotta work together at all times.

this situation actually happens to me quite a lot when i play doubles.

Usually if I'm playing a character with not as good of an approach (which is most of the time), I like to wait for my teammate (usually a char with a better approach) to come back so I can follow up on his approach with the invincibility frames.

But if I'm playing a character with a better approach like fox/falco or w/e I'll usually like to go in asap and try to set something up for my partner to followup on. Cuz as a char who approaches better I don't see a need to wait for a less-aggressive partner to resurrect, as it will give him more invincibility frames to follow up on whatever I am potentially able to pull off during his "respawn" time.
