It is DJC'ing, he does it with multiple aerials, most notably nair. But that video is TAS, which means most of that is difficult to reproduce in an actual game, with an N64 controller and human limitations. Especially the parrys.

If you're talking about the first kill on pikachu, he DJC's 2 nairs then a DJC'd fair for the spike.

no i was just curious as to what that move was.... is ti possible to be done in game on console? or only through TAS (im not sure what TAS is but it sounds like a slow down the game thing )

thanks for the help

disproving determinism
TAS basically means playing the game frame by frame and using savestates and rerecords to play perfectly.

Yoshi's DJC attacks are definitely possible on console, just tap jump twice and then do an attack and the attack will cancel the second jump. Finding the timing for this is kinda hard though if you want to do it really low to the ground like in the TAS video.

Ness can DJC also, and the best way to do his aerials really low to the ground is to slide your thumb from right c to down c to a. This technique doesn't really work with Yoshi in my experience because Yoshi needs to be a bit farther off the ground to actually have an attack come out. So you have to find the timing to keep his DJC attack low (but high enough that the attack actually comes out).

At 20 seconds he DJC nairs Pika across the stage into a spike.

The nairs look weird because he's smash DI'ing them with Pika so the combo actually works.

That combo does not work without TAS. It's just more entertaining that way.

Isn't pika a cpu there, how can he control a cpu?
Apparently he can because thats clearly some crazy smash DI on Pika's part.

It doesn't seem possible to me. Yoshi's nair would send Pika too far without TAS smash DI helping.

edit: It's not hard at all to do the DJC nairs that quickly but the trajectory it sends Pika just doesn't make sense without what appears to be some major smash DI.

Something you might want to note is those really early Nairs wont combo on a human, unless you put down the controller when you are getting combo..ed?

I wouldn't practicing that with the hopes of using it in game, Prince is a great player and a master of show.

I stand corrected. I was trying it on Pika and it does seem possible.

You just have to get maximum possible horizontal distance with the DJC'ed nairs which is VERY HARD.
