Wtf is up with 117

I first started noticing it as it is John the Spartan's (from the halo series) number. I always see damage percentages that are 117. maybe it is that people seem to get to these high percents, but watching some combo vids, I see it even more now. like when armada super dash attacked some falco (peepee?) when he is at 117 then when the falco kills armada, HE is at 117%. Is it just me or do other people see this or other numbers more than others. It is almost too distracting sometimes.

I wouldn't worry about it too often. In a game such as melee where some attacks do a set amount of damage, where the range of numbers that you see is mostly below 120, and after playing and watching thousands of matches you are bound to see those kinds of numbers over and over again. You probably notice 117 more because it is very distinguishable and also an odd percentage to be at.
