Man the people on these forums are good!
I need to practice like crazy to get good enough to beat ANYONE! I've only beaten, like, two people, only one of which I could beat consistently...

Oh, another thing: I tried hooking up my old CRT instead of my laggy DLP. But the CRT gave me such a headache that I had to play on the DLP again... I'll have to get an LCD, or something over here...

Back on topic: I decided that I'd just practicing my brains out to get good enough to really start beating people! 1 vs. 1 level 9s 3 stock; just simple matches that I can perfect combos on.

Does anyone have an good methods for practicing that could help me start winning these matches more regularly? I could really use some help/advice...

BTW, I main Lucas, secondary Pit and Lucario, third DDD and such...

Computers aren't really effective at becoming better. Facing people better than you, trying new tricks to in cooperate into your game. Trying new characters. Those are all ways you can advance your game.
Practice practice practice

Computers are way different than humans. They're easier to read, easier to beat, have lightning quick reflexes (read your button inputs).

Well, I usually practice on lvl 3 and lvl 7 computers in part to avoid the super human reflexes of the lvl 9s. lvl 3s to begin the practicing of a tactic or a combo etc. then move up to lvl 7s to increase the difficulty of executing it perfectly. When I have it down for the lvl 7s, I usually move up to attempting it on human players. The human players are the real test because you would have the execution down by then, and if you can barely get it off it might be to predictable to be a valid tactic or you might be focusing on connecting with it to the point of being repetitive. CPUs are nothing like the intellect of a human mind. CPUs will never master projectile spam...

Well, you should try to exploit Link's terrible recovery. Force him off the edge, then just push him away from the edge.
If he has around 50%, just try PK Thunder 2 on him, and that should push him off even further. When he tries to recover now, try one of Lucas' projectiles to stop his recovery.

If you want to practice against me, then feel free to VM me :).

Lol, just so you know, most of the best players don't even play WiFi.... xD I guess it really doesnt matter though since it seems like you're only interested in playing Online...

And I recommend that you try playing on the CRT... WiFi already has enough lag as it is... o-o;;

Yeah, I'm mostly only interested in playing online. Because if you play IRL, you have to travel hours to get to a tournament area... And unless I can find a local one, I'm screwed because I don't have the time to travel...

OH NOES!!! Not the dreaded CRT!!! ... Although the DLP isn't that much better... I'm trying to get an LCD...

CRT - Gives me a horrible headache
DLP - Has horrible lag
LCD - Only a little lag, but I have to get one yet! >.<
