Hi, my name is Oh., I main Yoshi and I'm from MD/VA...etc.

I just started playing wifi friendlies and might consider doing ladder or w/e...I never played wifi before because I couldn't stand the lag and it almost makes it seem like a different game

However I really need specific matchup practice and just practice in general

But anyways I was just wondering are there any noticeable differences for Yoshi on wifi? In terms of playstyle or things you can/can't do that you can offline?

I realize you have to play smarter and safer than you do offline.

Eggs are bair work really well but using too many mindgames doesn't seem to work

ledge camping and camping in general is a ton safer cuz they cant powershield eggs so easily like they can offline.

Idk it just takes some getting used to, i dont like using my yoshi on wifi i mostly use other characters on ladder.

:yoshi: It pretty much is a different game on WiFi.

Just remember to physically be one step ahead and to not get frustrated when that one thing "should(n't) have worked." WiFi is truly the land of No Johns, so just try to be optimistic and be careful with your button pressing, as Yoshi has a lot of multibutton techs and you can buffer yourself right into a hole if you're not careful.

LOL

Well so far I've done pretty well just playing people in MD/VA chat

THE BUFFERING OMG...I didn't know and I buffered down b and SD'd like twice...edge cancelled eggs works great its so cheap though lol...but the timing is different in order to do it fast without falling back from the ledge

For some reason I can't use pivot grab near the edge, if I try then it ends up me spotdodging off the stage and putting myself at risk of getting gimped

Pretty much play super thuper safe and not too aggressive, throw lots of eggs and bairs and nairs and hope they make a mistake so you can fsmash or upsmash them since upairs timing is awkward

Maybe I'm making a mistake.

Funny, I experienced the same thing Delta. I would usually do it once, and try to do it again, and the second one would somehow convert into a ledge attack. Something about that second one...
Other times I'd only do it once and get too far from the edge and I'd have to DJ back to the stage.

Everything felt faster offline, but slower at the same time... it was weird. Ah I was half asleep anyways.

Yeah I'm just johning because I placed somewhere near last. >_>

Lmao yoshi gets better on wifi IDK what you people are smoking. Like stocky said, his camp game gets a lot harder to punish (as well as just about everything laggy he does like egg lay). Your egg lays arent as accurate and your pivot grabs dont always come out, but your camp game, pivot/dashing grabs(when they come out), and smashes get a looooooooot better than you'd think.
