WiFi Questions (SSE) for anyone who'd know

I recently saw a video of a match between someone from America and someone in Japan. According to the poster, the lag wasn't too bad. I guess it's safe to assume that it's possible to play with anyone in the Americas (or at least the US) without having to worry about lag problems.

Anyway, the question is: Can you play Subspace Emissary on WiFi? It would be lame if you couldn't, but I haven't been able to find any info saying otherwise.

It's called "Single Player" because, you know, it's Single Player. The option to play with a friend is, however, a nice addition. But it's not playable online.
