This is going to be short, sweet, and rather simple.

Who cares if there are 3 different Fox "clones" or that Ness and Lucas are pretty much the same? Have any of you even played Melee at all? Last time I checked even though Falco and Fox's move sets were essentially the same in Melee, they were two completely different characters in all aspects of how they were played to their best levels to their bad matchups. Despite all these so called "clones" these characters are all going to play universally different, thus still adding new characters to the mix of the metagame and what not. Yeah, it would have been cool to see characters like Simon Belmont, Megaman, Ridley, and others along those lines, but thats never going to change we are always going to have characters we want in these games. If they would have included any of those characters instead of someone like Wolf or Falco, everyone would still be complaining about where is Falco and why didn't they add Wolf.

I think its time we stop crying about the game we are getting and start getting excited to actually play it. Brawl is going to a great game regardless of whose in it, just look at Melee its been around for 8 years now and no one is complaining about the characters beyond the balance of them, so instead of whining why don't we start asking questions about the balance of the characters, who is better, what are the games mechanics like compared to Brawl, because these are the things that made Melee great, not that there were a bunch of unique characters, but that the mechanics of the game were so fluent and amazing that it developed the following it had. Just look at some of the other fighting games out there that have double the character list of Melee, but aren't half the game that Melee is if you disagree.

That is all for now, maybe we can start getting some real information about Brawl, instead of all this complaining.

yes, its still going to be great regardless of the characters, but its not like eliminating clones altogether would have been a hard thing to do. melee was great, but was criticized for the clones. why didnt Sakurai learn from his previous mistakes and remove clones from Brawl? it would have pleased far more people than having the clones has. how difficult would it have been to have unique characters like megaman, ridley, geno, micaiah, etc, rather than pointless, waste-of-space clones like toon link and wolf? (only because he is a clone, i would be fine with wolf in as a unique character)

brawl will be immense, but the fact is it could so easily have been better (in regards to the roster), and obviously people are gonna complain because brawl has unnecesseraly been made slightly worse.

i completly agree with the op, just get excited about playing,

and what if your favourite character was in so what? would that mean you'd main them? people were excited about mewtwo, but hardly anyone mained him......ridley could have been the next mewtwo for all you know if sakurai included him

I'm right there with ya RSG. People will complain regardless though, even if anything was different. They'll always find something to complain about, it's human nature, we love complaining. As sad as it is... I hate it. You can never be fully satisfied, so there's no sense in complaining, it won't DO anything about your problem with the situation. So, it'd be best not to complain at all, but no one will ever stop so... really, the complaints are unavoidable. People are going to complain, even if we show them that there's nothing to complain about, they're scavengers.

From what I've seen, the clones are much more 'Luigified'. I have no problem here.
People seem to disregard how we had so many newcomers confirmed before the leak.

I do not mind that there are clones(especially if they are Luigified). The roster is bigger than the one in Melee, which I am thankful for(not to mention the fact that I will finally be able to play with Meta Knight and Dedede). Look on the bright side everyone; at least Dr. Mario and Pichu are gone(we only need ONE Mario and masochistic characters are not my cup of tea).;)
