link and olimar say hi.
Oh yeah I forget about them. Olimar's the crap! Link's is slightly better than Olimar's though. I think what makes Oli's on so bad is that you can only use the purple pikmin to get edgehoggers off and so it gets a lot harder during intense matches to plan where your purple pikmin will go. His is by far the worst then.

How ARE they bad? They have ridiculous horizontal recovery, and a great deal of priority, ESPECIALLY DK.

Just because they don't have 6 jumps and can accidentally gimp you while recovering doesn't mean their recovery is bad. Also, Ganon's recovery is atrocious.

Bowser and DK don't have the greatest recoveries, sure, but as said, if you think they're bad you're doing them wrong. Bowser has a giant, spinning, spikey shell of doom and DK has a giant pair of whirlling arms, also of doom. :D

his u-b it quite good... not really as recovery, but as a damaging and/or killing move
UpB is good as recovery, too. And as defensive and approaching move. Invincibility frames, b*tch.

not to forget, that bowser is a heavyweight
He's not only a heavyweight, he's the heaviest character in the game, woo.

but
bowser is a really big target... sometimes he seems to be some kind of magnet for projectiles
He also has the biggest shield in the game, making it even easy to shield projectiles like a fully charged Aura Sphere.

bowser has a bad recovery
therefor in some situations he is easy to gimp
No.

he often is easy to punish because of his long-lasting ending lags
Of course, if you spam F-Smash or D-Air, you'll get punished.

Just thought I'd say this but bowser got some new thing in brawl+ where he receives reduced damage from moves (he's the only one and it was given because he gets comboed pretty bad).

It makes multihit moves like Kirby's d-throw and MK's tornado (!) near useless. Each giving about 1 damage in-total :D
