Flashback to 2001, I was six years old, Grandma took me into a Kmart and I went into the Video Game Aisle, saw the Demo Kiosks with Gamecube, Playstation, etc. I started playing on the Gamecube one, there was a game that caught my attention, "Pikmin", it was colorful, it was cute, It was fun- I couldn't get enough so I asked my grandma for it and I got it for christmas that Same year for my gamecube.
Fast forward to 2008, I head into a Gamestop that had a Wii Setup with Smash Bros. Brawl on it and I head over to it, some people were playing on it and I wait for them to finish, as they leave I eagerly pick up the gamecube controller that was connected to it and look at the character select screen, Mario, Link, Kirby... My eyebrows rose at Pokemon Trainer and was about to select him... that was before I moved the cursor to select 'ready to fight' as it skimmed over a familiar Character, Olimar, I couldn't believe my eyes, My favorite nintendo game represented in Smash!?- I quickly De-select pokemon trainer and try him out, god I was awful with him, I didn't understand his playstyle at all- but you know what? I didn't care, I was happy.
Skip to Present day and I still couldn't be happier that Olimar remains a playable character in Smash, Infact, I've won 3 tournaments with him!
Another thing about Olimar that makes me giddy is that most people don't know Olimar! if you dont know him as a character your gonna have trouble fighting him.
