Why do people want to be so... Different?

I don't think people strive to be different, they just naturally are. There are people that dislike popular things due to genuine, personal reasons -- not necessarily because it makes them "hip" or "different." This isn't to say that there aren't folks that hate when things get popular and decide to hate them on that superficial level, however. But not all do.

Your statement was very generalizing.

It's replacing "dattebayo" as his catchphrase. "Dattebayo" was slightly less annoying, though.
But Dattebayo doesn't actually mean anything, and there are a lot of Japanese people who add extraneous ends to their sentences. So it can be considered normal and not annoying.

The only reason I hate popular things is because people beat you other the head with it. Like friggin Sean Kingston and Hinder, I'd hear their ******** puppy-love songs over and over, more than once an hour even though the songs are monotonous anyway.

I don't like Naruto much because I feel like I'm in history class, I can't count how many episodes spend over 10 minutes on explaining something or doing a flashback, it's like someone needs to scream, "I WATCHED THIS LAST EPISODE! DON'T SHOW ME THE SAME ****! I WAS THERE!".

Other than that I don't hate anything that much. Although I know lots of people on these forums are guilty of hating Halo because it's popular. No doubt.

I hate Myspace because it's just a bunch of cluttered up profiles. I used to love Facebook because of it's simplicity but with the new applications platform it's quickly becoming just as bad or worse.

I'm so glad someone brought that up about Facebook. The applications are out of hand now. It makes people's pages look cluttered and crappy. I shouldn't have to search for someone's normal wall.

And Naruto's flashbacks were the worst. I was so glad I watched it on the computer and could fast forward through that ****.

How do you meet people? How do you make friends? You don't inherently know all of your friends via instinct when you're born. You socialize with people you don't know, and that is how you increase your social circle. That statement was silly as hell.
no that statement is not silly i rather meet people in real life than over the internet. All of my friends i know are from either school or child hood friends.
and i never liked myspace thats just me
