Why did any of you want Mario back?
Why did any of you want Fox back?
Why did any of you want Samus back?
Why did any of you want Pikachu back?
Why did any of you want Kirby back?
Why did any of you want Yoshi back?
Why did any of you want Bowser back?
Why did any of you want DK back?
Why did any of you want Peach back?
Why did any of you want Zelda back?

I mean, you may have been good as them in Melee, but who knows. They might be weaker in Brawl. Therefore its stupid too want them back.

THIS IS UNDENIABLE LOGIC!!!!

Freakin AJIOSDOFJI:!!! Sorry, I just typed out a long post only to have it magically disappear. (I just did something wrong.)

Basically I don't care if he comes back, but dare I say, I'd rather have a new franchise represented, or a FE character that is more... different. Like a girl or something.

So yeah, I main Marth (well, it's a tie with C. Falcon) and I still don't care. I like characters like Kirby and Link better, it just so happened that they weren't so hot, and Marth is high tier. With Brawl I've got a shot at picking a character I actually like AND them ending up high tier material at the same time. If not, I'll just pick someone else, and play the others on the side. (Or work like mad to bring them to mid/high tier.)

It happened last time with Marth, and this time it'll be some other character like Mario or Meta Knight (even though I like those characters, whatever, you get it.)

If Marth gets in, fine whatever, but if not, Sayanara, we had a good run.

You make a good point here. For me at least.

The only reason I'd want Marth back was because he kicked hiney in SSBM. I know nothing about him character wise, and I don't care for his personality that much. If he were to be mega-nerfed in SSBB, I would be extremely upset, because in my mind, all he was good for was a powerful moveset.

i want marth back, but more balanced, theres no reason why they couldnt try to rebalance him, what i want to know is why your dissing him so much. he has as much right to be in the game as any other character, except less development time would be spent on him since he has his basic stuff setup from the last game.

The one thing I see is that there is NOT enough room for Ike's, Marth's, Sigurd's, and Hector's blue hair and capes to be in the game. I love all four of those characters, but I can only see two tops being in, and I'm not so sure how well Marth stands up to those two.

I see Ike+one other blue-haired lord+one other FE rep. Either that or Ike+one other obscure FE rep, like Ayra, or Zephiel.

I can't imagine anyone wanting anyone to leave the character roaster for brawl. The only reason people like you don't want Marth back is because of envy or spite. Give it a rest, The more the merrier.

I dont think hes upset about the idea of Marth coming back. I think he's confused as to why anyone would want him back.

Which is weird... but I guess I can respect his opinions...

Sword Dancer Marth is a nice contrast to 2 Handed Pure Power Ike (Kirby + Ike are my mains!)
I also want someone w/ magic: Micaiah and perhaps a different weapon: Axe/Spear

But only problem is too many representatives for Fire Emblem. I would want 4 spots for FE but not a high chance.

I am bothered by the fact so many people want Marth back as a character. I know many of you play him in Melee, he is High Tier after all and not the most technical character to use.

People say Ike won't be replacing Marth. Sure we could see two swordsmen with long swords, capes, and short blue hair in the same game. That sounds very plausible.

Sure they have different move-sets and people like to believe Sakurai wouldn't rid the game of a unique character's moveset. They would also never dream to put in Roy with that moveset instead of Marth, you know a character who's sword is shorter and doesn't look anything like Ike.

Ignoring all of that, why does anyone even want Tiara-boy back? You all assume even if he does return that he will not be toned down. Just how many people are going to give a crap about Marth if he isn't High Tier? What if his Tip is no longer his sweet spot? What if he doesn't have his ridiculous range on his sword and grabs? What if he lacks that priority he once had? What if he is as heavy as Roy is in Melee and has the same speed Roy had?

I just don't see why people would want Marth back, unless it is solely them believing Marth will come back exactly how he is in Melee. Even if Marth does return people, don't hold your breath on them not beating his pretty-boy face up with a nerf bat.

Care to tell me why any of you want Marth back, AS A MASCOT?

Marth is an actual historical icon lol. He's going to be back even if I hate him tremendously in Melee.

Roy's gonna be dropped cause he sucks too massively in Smash AND FE6.

Why should Marth be in Brawl?

1. First FE character in the ssb franchise
2. The first FE character in the Fire Emblem series [he's the FE mascot]
3. It doesn't make any sense to remove a mascot character [if they do, switch Samus for Fusion/Dark Samus=better weapons][they kept Ice Climbers and hardly anyone used them]
4. Who cares if he's got a tiara? That means he's richer than you.

Now, if they do put Marth back in Brawl, we all know he WILL be toned DOWN. Why? To make a game more "balanced." No tipper, weaker grabs. Problem solved for those who think, "Marth is broken," and, "Chaingrabbing in gay/cheap."

I play Marth as my Secondary, but that doesn't mean I have to be sarcastic about why he's either in or out. As an unbiased reply, Marth should be in Brawl for the numbered reasons above.

Also about Roy: He was there for commercial reasons only [ssbm came out in Japan before in the States as did FE6]

Because those two that you mentioned IIRC only one of them leads a part in the game. Hector and Lyn both lead equal parts of the game and are there roughly the whole thing.
Eliwood leads the major part of the game, Lyn has a little part, as for hector, nothing. His so called part is Eliwoods, just with some twists.

Let's stop this argument before we get angry at eachother or something. >_>

1. I give a crap about Marth, hes my favorite FE character and one of my top favorite nintendo characters in general
2. He doesn't look like Ike, using the same weapon and having the same color hair doesn't make them alike.
3. There is no way Roy would be brought back and not Marth. Roy was put in to promote a game.
4. Most likely the remake of Fire Emblem will be brought here to the US. Marth hasn't been in a game since 1994 but they still haven't forgotten about him and are giving him a new game to bring new fans to the character and having FE fans a chance to play the game that started it all.

I highly doubt they'd cut Marth from brawl.

Gah, I hating debating FE.

Unlike other franchises, there are so many characters who look the same, fight the same, even near identical weapons (Celice, when did you get the Falchion?), etc.

I'd rather us just give ideas, and let Sakurai do the rest. And I'm really stumped as to whether Marth should return. Sure, he was cool in Melee, but should we move on? ARGGHHHHH.

I know, but eh. I kinda forgot about those two when I was listing the lords because they only have a tiny part in the game (and I haven't actually played it yet, just read everything about it). When I play a game I remember the characters better.

Eliwood really didn't stand out much. All he did was mate with a dragon and help produce Roy (great job Eliwood, you make half-bloods).

But Marth was a dragon slayer; for Christ's sake he IS one of the seven legendary heros and defeated the [late] Dragon King Medeus. You see him in the intro of FE 7. He's the hallmark for the American reception of FE [through Melee] and thus hsould not be removed. Without Marth, we [by "we" I mean a lot of people] wouldn't really know about the Fire Emblem frnachise. Why remove him and hurt game sales?

Keep him, bring a nerf bat to his face, and dumb his grab range. He's the balanced and fun for everyone.

Eliwood slayed two Dragons in FE7(One of them Ninian) and Nergal(Who was more powerful than one of the legendary heroes, without even wielding a legendary spell), and in FE6, it's mentioned that he is the best warrior on the entire continent.

Eliwood is the Ike of Elibe.

Seven legendary? There was eight in FE7. Only one in FE1/3, and that was Marths Ancestor Anri.

You see him in the intro of FE 7.
No, we don't see him in FE7, at all. We see the eight legendary heroes, of which the two swordwielders are named Hartmut and Roland.

Well let's look at it.
Ike:
Slow
Strong
2 games

Roy:
Clone
Game bombed in Japan

Marth:
Second most popular to Sigurd
Fast
In 3 games(most of any FE lord, FE1,3, and 11, 3 and 11 are remakes, 3 is basically a new game but the first game is the first part of the story, 11 will probably be double the length of 3)

Everyone should just stop whining about why this guy makes a difference in our descisions, its obvious that Marth will be back, either way, he is my main, and I would prefer to have him back, but if not, oh well, boohoo.

I've been having Marth problems lately (my friend is the best Marth in our area of Raleigh) and I hate that my Ganondorf can't beat his Marth :(
Camp more and you'll do fine.

Lol.

But seriously, I love Marth because he is basically the incarnation of exactly what I want in a swordsman. He's got that look like "I don't really want to kill you, but you leave me no choice." He's got speed, elegance, and a nice fighting style. That tipper sweetspot encourages you to take full advantage of your range, which is exactly how a swordsman should fight.

Now for the actual support to him being in brawl.
1. 1st FE lord.
2. Starred in more games than any other FE lord. (Ike only gets 1&1/2 because he's not the main lord for the full game)
3. 1st FE game on the DS (advertising)
4. Popular Vetran character.

You're ********. People want him because they like him as a character. Why do I want Link in Brawl? (I know he's in, I'm using him as an examaple)

Because I like Link, I like the Zelda series, I like Link's style, and Link kicks ***. Those are the same reasons anyone wants anyone in any game.

And because... well... he's Marth and he's awesome... not just his kick *** moveset...I mean come on! Who else is manly enough to wear a tiara to battle like that? I mean.. I know it's a momento of his sister (hence the reason it's so girly looking) but still I WOULD NOT HAVE TO GUTS TO DO THAT. Not only can he pull of fthe look pretty **** well, but he shreds anyone who tries to make fun of it! And if you've seen the Fire Emblem OVA, you just gain so much more respect for him... I'm serious...

Sorry...but when your only speaking line in a game is "Please look at me!"...you lose major cudos regardless of were he comes from...

That and his design is uber yaoi to teh maxxxxx...>_<;

If anything else if he comes back give him a more broder face for crying out loud!...That and a better one liner to boot...>_>;;

Dunno, I got lost...
Regardless, I'd love to see Marth. Though I rather give what hasn't already been given to Ike to Takamaru, who would make a fine replacement for the agile swordsman slot. But that's just me and I definately won't be upset if they put in Marth instead.
WTF?! An samurai can´t replace an saber fencer (yeah, Marth is a fencer)! It´s like replaceing a dog whith a cat!

I have nothing abainst Takamaru, heck I want him in Brawl, but samurai=/=werstern saber fencer.

I don´t need to say anything moore that my personal reasons. To be able to duel whith my friend (who is a Marth user). And he is heck cool. 10000 points for beeing a bishie.

i'm just a huge fan of Fire Emblem. And I really liked Marth.

He was kickass. and I had some killer moments with him.

He belongs in Brawl.

I just want to see more FE characters. And it be nice to have one veteran from the series rather than 2 newbies. There will be at least 2.

I could see Fire Emblem being represented by Ike, Marth and Micaiah. I don't get why we can't have three reps from this series, I mean it IS getting very popular in America and it was already popular in Japan. Melee had two reps and this way, we get Ike (who's already confirmed, the fan favorite Marth, and the new fan favorite Micaiah(who's also a new female character and doesn't use swords, double plus for the people who hate sword users). That way fans of both ends of the series (earliest to latest) all get what they want.

so very true.. it'll keep the sword haters at bay.... so would Ephriam, but his game was never quite as popular... but I hear Hector's got some good supporters
