I have a strong feeling we will be getting a new pokemon. But we see a lot of pikachu (even tho I think that's a good guess). I'm gonna say Jigglypuff. I think any pokemon is a good guess but considering how awful Jigglypuff was in sm4sh I could see them showing all the pokemon from sm4sh/brawl/melee and have jigglypuff sing them to sleep then a newcomer pokemon could just come in and murder puff by blasting her off team rocket style.

I don't know if we'll see more realistic characters like Link or Samus getting killed. Having cartoony characters die in such crazy ways is not as brutal as seeing realistic characters impaled or hit in the neck as it feels much more visceral and scary.

K. Rool's trailer was the last we saw of Smash Ultimate. Dedede will be back. Mario, Mega Man and Luigi will be back. Sakurai has already promised that every character in the series will be in Ultimate, so removing them from the game via trailer deaths would not be honest. And the next trailers will probably not be as brutal as the way Ridley attacked Mario and Mega Man and would not feature ghosts ripped from bodies.

Bowser does look like a prime candidate for the chopping block if Monster Hunter gets added. However, Bowser previously jobbed for Shulk in his reveal trailer so he might be safe.

Maybe replace Bowser with K. Rool., and end the trailer with the monster hunter donning the cape and crown as he smelts the golden breastplate into something more form fitting for his/her slimmer body.

We already have enough Mario characters for 8-player smash. I hope we don't get new Mario characters because then I would have to decide who gets left out of the match if I do an 8-Player Mario Smash. Anyway, the next character to get hurt should be Duck Hunt. People hate how he laughed at them in the original game and some are probably selecting him as a CPU for revenge or having him as a main to annoy people online.

Yeah, it happens every single game.
I mean, even the "deaths" of Mario and Mega Man are a stretch.

Id agree that the first with Ridley could be interpreted as death. Only because of the silhouette moments being a classic trope.

They could kill hordes of them. Then Olimar, left alone, could get stomped and planted like the bad ending of his first game.

If Isaac gets revealed, Ridley or Bowser seem like a good candidate due to Isaac fighting dragons and kin a lot in his games. He also can fight Master Hand due to Move being kind of similar to Master Hand.

For Skull Kid, I expect him not to kill, rather to haunt, taunt and do Skull Kid-ly things.

Dixie Kong needs only to intervere in a battle where K.Rool is seemingly getting the upperhand on DK and Diddy, or possibly Diddy alone since romance and all.

With Impa, she needs to appear just in time to safe Zelda, maybe Link as well I dunno. Her enemies need to at least be Ganondorf and maybe someone else.

Not sure with other scenarios, these are the ones I picture / want.

Well, Mario and Pokémon along with Fire Emblem have a lot of characters. I think it's better if underrepresented franchises like F-Zero, Ice Climber, Punch-Out, Sonic, etc get new characters, or better: new franchises that never been seen in Smash such as ARMS. Kirby still has only three reps, which is weird considering how Sakurai is the main creator of the Kirby games. This is the thread on who's going to die next? I guess Kirby could get kicked by Chun-Li.

I really have no idea on the angle they're gonna go with who's next, but seeing how some big name characters (Mario, Megaman, and Luigi) are already going down, they either will continue this trend or have a hero beat a villain.

Though being one who greatly wants Phosphora, if this was to happen, I can see two main ways going at this; either Pit and Palu fighting together against other characters, only to get ambushed by Phosphora (and Palu being defeated) or a revisit of Pit vs Link except with Pit having the upper hand this time, but Phosphora does the finishing blow to Link...
Whatever path is chosen (I prefer the one where Link goes down though an FE character can take his place), they could reference Pit and Phosphora having a rematch at the end after we see her in action in reference to Uprising, where Pit technically defeated a "weakened" Phosphora.

Sigh, but this is probably just me dreaming of wanting Phosphora as I think she has a chance (not being shown as an AT yet, right?).

Now should Medusa be the choice, She may either take out Palu or go after Pit first as a means of revenge.


But as for potential characters going out next, It's either Link, an FE veteran, or a villain (likely Bowser), but I'm still hoping it's one of the first two... That's not to say that it can't be Bowser or Charizard being "hunted" by a Monster Hunter since that Rathalos showed up... I feel it's more likely if a direct is around late August or early September.

I honestly dont think it would Be Koffing or Ekans... that is a callback that just has passed (maybe a final Smash?).... but I think Wobuffet would be a given. And then some non Pokemon type attacks. Mecha. Traps. The balloon and submarines!
Pokemon is one of the most weirdly represented series in the game. It is the only one that actually bases a large amount of the content of the character based on the actual anime as source material. Cheat tactics.

It would be easier to guess which (non-echo) rival character would kill someone.

It was only Samus until Ridley showed up, and he killed two people.
Same with Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and King K. Rool, which had King Dedede get "dethroned" for impersonating another king.

Captain Falcon still doesn't have a rival. I could see Fox, Falco, Sonic, or some other speedstar or machine-riding character dying to one of Falcon's rivals, namely in a Black Shadow trailer.

Porky was a boss battle in Brawl, and from the looks of it, we might just be getting boss battles again. If Porky doesn't make the count as a boss, I can see someone dying or being forced to fight Ness/Lucas in a Porky trailer.

I also see Kirby getting confused for a Ditto and stuck in a pokeball or brutal pokemon battle for a new gen Pokemon trailer.

I don't have any ideas on new fighters, but if Isabella is a thing, I can see Wario being stuck in debt because of Tom Nook or lectured by Mr. Resetti... both fates worse than death.
