It's nice that there will be new ones, but after about a week or so, I think I'm going to turn them off. Items just get in the way, even when you're the one who picks them up. Smashing into a bob-omb that just appeared in front of you is annoying, but picking it up and then getting smashed by your opponent is definitely worse.

Anybody else feel the same way?

I hope you can sleep soundly knowing that you're playing a disabled version of the game. Are there any other major gameplay points you want removed? How about the neutral-A? Most people don't use those very much, so why should they waste their time on them?

No point really discussing it. This is the headquarters of the pros, naturally most of them don't like items. But those are the minority. So, to answer your question, the majority of Smash players cares about items.

Only thing I wish is that they can be turned off or don't appear in the first place in Single Player. I've had random Bob-Ombs falling into my attacks twice in a row in All-Star Mode....

If someone plays with items, it most certainly means that he doesn't play competitively, and doesn't know about the advanced techniques.

The only reason Items aren't used in tournaments is the exploding capsules/crates. Will Items be used in Brawl? Who knows til Brawl is out.

Truth. And, items are the best way for them to give us new information while not dropping any of their bombs.
