Who’s a character you want after having played their game(s)?

Ever play a game and think “yeah, I want that character in Smash”? What character stickers that fancy for you? For me (characters in bold are characters who got in)

I want pretty much everyone from games I enjoy in Smash, but my standouts are Miriam, the Legionis, and the Knight. I also want Sakuna from Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin and Aletheia from Gestalt: Steam and Cinder, because those games look amazing and they're not even out yet.

isnt that how it usually works? you want a character in smash cause theyre from a game you like. surely its more unusual to want a character from a game youve not played

I don’t really play games expecting to want a Smash character out of them. I think it’s a little unhealthy in my opinion, because then I would constantly be disappointed that so many characters that I would potentially have faith in end up not being in Smash. The way that characters have been choosen feels pretty grab-baggy, with Joker and Terry being good examples, so I just try to enjoy the ride.

The only exception to this for me right now is Phoenix Wright, because his motivation to defend his clients from dire situations fits in with how I view Smash tournaments. Turnabouts are always satisfying, and Phoenix Wright embodies the spirit of comebacks. Plus, his funny and out-there personality would make him perfect for Smash gameplay montages and clips.

Pretty much all of my wants are like this.

Midna I've wanted since playing Twilight Princess during the Brawl days. She still remains my most wanted character.

Elma after putting hundreds of hours into Xenoblade Chronicles X. I've heard her name mentioned beforehand but it wasn't until playing X that I became a supporter.

Crash since the PS one days, along with Cloud was one of the first characters I've wanted in Smash. As I played the crap outta Warped alondside FFVII back in those days.

Tifa for pretty much the same reasons I wanted Cloud, she was one of my favourite party members in FFVII along with Cloud. I lowkey actually wanted her more than Cloud (but still happy we at least got Cloud)

More recently, I'd put Akira Howard on that list as I just recently started playing Astral Chain and I think they make for an awesome fighter in Smash with an interesting concept.

Weavile, is the evolved form of my favourite Pokemon. I've used Sneasel a ton in Crystal version and of course used Weavile a ton in Gen 4, also my main in Pokken.

Characters that got into the game that I've played, who I wanted prior to their reveal.

I'm not going to mention the obvious characters that are in my signature.....

but my new "outside the box pick that would never happen" from a game I've played in the last year is Date & Aiba from AI: The Somnium Files.

If nothing else because music from that game should be in Smash. Although also because I feel like Date & Aiba could make for an unusual character in Smash.

Phoenix Wright. My first play session was only the first case and partway into the second, but I was quickly hooked. The characters are fun, the story is engaging, and would rep a franchise unrepresented in Smash. I kind of find it crazy that Ace Attorney hasn't even been mentioned in Smash, since it essentially defined the Visual Novel genre and is very close to the hearts of Nintendo fans. Like he'd be one of those additions that's 3rd party, but wouldn't feel out of place at all even if next to the Nintendo characters and no other 3rd parties, like how Sonic, Banjo and Mega Man are.
