Whippin' out the naners

I swear I've used the search tool already...Anyways, what are the best ways to quickly pull out the bananas? I usually shorthop backwards and then jump and grab it. But I was wondering if there's a safe way to do it offstage; say, hanging from the ledge (assuming the opponent isn't right there waiting to meteor smash your face)? What do you usually use?

There is quite a few little tricks you can do in order to get a banana out. I'm sure it's in one of the videos that are stickied. Check those out.
