(Is this the right forum to post this?)
Hypothetically, if we were to get some classic 2D run n gun character in Ultimate as DLC (and it was between either of the following choices, state another if you can think of one), what would make more sense and be a better fit: a character from Metal Slug or a character from Contra?
Like, Contra is amongst the classic NES nostalgia for America at least; it's referred to in things like AVGN, Brentalfloss and Screwattack where those old guys grew up with it alongside other games. Not sure of its popularity in Japan, but it'd make for a classic NES rep like Simon Belmont, right?
Metal Slug on the other hand, represents SNK with a pretty popular and beloved franchise with a ton of games. Lots of people like Metal Slug.
So assuming they'd get their gun play allowed in Smash, who would be the superior choice for Smash Bros, given the Nintendo context of Contra?
