Which character are you guys going to main or will you do like I and play with all of them?

I have ALWAYS mained fox since the very beginning and will continue to do so. Ever since Brawl however, I have taken pride in being able to use any character competitively in ladders on allisbrawl or tourneys. I will continue that trend in the new game. It will take me awhile but I enjoy being versatile. Ofcourse in this new iteration FOX will be my main character to fall back on and now SHULK will OFCOURSE be my first trainee.

I always start by trying everyone. Because each game feels different, so I may not like the same characters, and I may find characters I didn't before, I do like now, and obviously new characters to test out.

After that, it settles and I primarily focus on whoever felt *right* for me.

I wound up playing about 19-20 characters in Brawl consistently, but I did play everyone now and then. As it stands, I'm already excited for like 30 characters in this. Surely, the number will drop as I play them, but still a lot.

I don't think I can really narrow it down.

There probably were a lot of threads about it, but I don't visit this forum every single day (I take big breaks), and even though I had posted the same thread like 5 months before that, I still wanted to know what their opinions were now, after all the new info had came in

Toon Link is my main from Brawl and since I really happen to like him I am sticking with him for this game, but my absolute main will be Mega Man. I'm also excited to try Robin, and things I'm on the fence about are really Dark Pit (If he's a clone of Pit or whatever, if he isn't then I might consider him), and Lucina (Just a matter of how different she is from Marth, some of her moves seem to be altered slightly and if that is the case then I might just have her there for fun or something idk).

tl:dr Mega Man, Toon Link, Robin + Dark Pit & Lucina if they're different enough.

Well this is how I start off every smash game:

Unlock characters as soon as possible playing only the new characters when possible.
Once everyone is unlocked start playing from top left doing four stock matches no time limit with 3 random opponents.
Pick mains and practice with them
Play remaining characters only when picked by random or challenged!

Gives me plenty of time per round to figure out what I need to know about the characters, gives plenty of practice and helps me learn other characters and match ups, and it's just fun to play everyone solidly at least once!

Little Mac looks fun as hell, but I hate playing overplayed characters. That's why I could never pick up Fox in Melee or Meta Knight in Brawl. If Mac ends up too popular, I'm going with Bowser Jr. or Olimar. I love the Clown Car concept, and I already love Olimar in Brawl, so it seems right for me.

It's inevitable that I will find an ultimate favorite, but I'll always give everyone a spin at least once until I find them. Maybe mostly to clear Classic/Smash Run/All-Star/whatever with them, but that counts as a spin, doesn't it?

There's so many fighters that are going to be here that I don't think it's possible to ever be fully proficient at all of them at once, not without serious play time.

I'm sure I'll attempt to clear Classic at 9.0 with all of them, though.

: I have always been a sucker for Zelda in smash. She is such a unique and fun character to play. There is no way to describe the feeling when a lightning kick sends someone flying across the stage. There is a brief pause when it connects and you know the opponent is thinking "Should I even try to DI this? Nope... I am already dead, nothing can save me at this point". Maybe the Captain Falcon players can relate with their knees of justice. It is the only move I can think of that even comes close to the power and satisfaction of Zelda's sweet spotted kicks.

Secondary/Still Considering:

all of these newcomers have caught my interest. I won't know for sure if I will main any of them until October, but if I am going to pick up a character other than Zelda it will be one of them.
