Thsi topic is hot on the boards, and I just wanted to know. If I have a say, then I will say a good high mid. Not a bad character, but i wish he wasn't so easy to grimp.

I gotta say, extremespeed is really one of the BEST anti-gimp and anti-edgeguard recovery moves around. Not a bad character, but i wish he wasn't so easy to grimp.
Amen, if only they knew (man, this is one good thing about picking a character that isn't the most popular). Oh yeah, and I would say mid-high, because he's balanced in many ways, but it takes practice to play as him.I won't comment at all in this thread, with one exception.

I don't know if I'm happy about this or if I'm sad. Lucario is just so misunderstood...Amen, if only they knew (man, this is one good thing about picking a character that isn't the most popular).
Just think of it as the Brawl-release tier list. There's been a few tournies, people have a general feel for most of the characters. I'm sure there's still some game-breaking AT's to be discovered (Wavedashing was found 2 years after Melee was released or something wasn't it?) but there's still a few characters even now who seem to win most often. Think of it like a pre-tier list, subject to extreme change.
It was found like two days or maybe it was two weeks after Melee was released, nobody thought it was useful though so nobody bothered to develop it until about two years afterwards. Now we have a HUGE community as well and tons of people looking for AT's, Melee didnt have that on release like Brawl does. We should be able to know if an AT is useful or not only a couple weeks after its discovered, and it should only take us about a year at most to discover all of the ones that will be viable for use.Just think of it as the Brawl-release tier list. Lol. My hero.Lucario is obviously god tier, so for all of you Toon Links and G&W's out there who are reading this thread please, disregard the above posts and when faced against a Lucario just put the controller down. It's pretty much the only option you have, srsly. :/
Hold on man, I know ES is extremely fast, but it not being an attack at all and having start-up lag does make it a pretty gimp-able move.I won't comment at all in this thread, with one exception.

Agreed. Just one thing though.I don't know if I'm happy about this or if I'm sad. Lucario is just so misunderstood...
oh and one thing
IT'S TOO FREAKING EARLY FOR A TIER LIST
This guy has christmas colors for his text.Tiers give a single view of what someone thinks of characters. This I think is just thinking inside the box. If you practice enough, tiers can become improbable displays of info. I say we shoot for the stars and go past tiers to acheive truly god status. An old saying is there is always someone better then you out there, this rule applies to all people, even pros. Try to be the best, and maybe you will.
Dude, christmas colours are top tier! This guy has christmas colors for his text.
...And Fox players don't? I'm confused. Did you just say that you hate tiers because you can john about using a low-tiered character and that low-tiered characters can be all gloaty about beating the high tiers, stating that it takes skill to win with any character regardless of tier position, while at the same time maining a character with a huge potential for reaching high-high or low-top tier in Brawl?I have to admit, one thing that makes Lucario players t3h l337 is because they have a "sense" of the flow of the battle. I'm not exaggerating, good Lucario's need to know this, as strategy shifts depending on battle favor and tactical ground. Hence why Lucario is really more than just the awesome entity he is. Oh, and who cares about friggin' tier lists? The more they shout, the more it makes me want to beat down on "tier suckups", because after winning with a low tier char, u can say "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought the tier list would save u, sorry for trashing u". If ur a fellow pro who just likes playing with a high tier, then by all means, play as them. But skill can only be brandished by adversity and challenge. That, my friends, is what Lucario is all about.
*looks at Gymn's post*
"Jingle Bells, jingle bells..."
I suppose I'm more angry about ppl who only choose chars based on tier, rather than taste. This game was meant for taking any character, throwing him/her/it into the fray, and laughing ur head off at the results. I was mainly mad at the Melee tier ppl, and at the same time, happy, because I thought "well, Mewtwo is one of my mains, let's see who I can really own." Yes, me sound very waffly, and I blame that on term papers, finals, and all the inconveniences of doing college level work while in the 11th grade...And Fox players don't? I'm confused. Although I will say that often using low tier characters are a great way to test your skill at the game itself rather than with a single high tier one, forcing you to rely on pure skill rather than on a single character's special attributes.
I wouldnt say that. Fox has moved down the tier list a bunch. Hes slower, not as powerful, can't shine spike, wavedash was a big part of his game. With all these things itd be surprising to see him in high tier. As for Falco, well hes just gotten better, being a falco main myself.Relevant post: I'd say high mid or low high... sadly, with the likes of the spacies in high, he might have some problems getting in.
Does that mean Good Year is a pyramid scheme? This would all be well and good but......
Tires don exits![]()
Cort has won every single tournament he has entered so far.I like how people are basing the tier list off of characters that win a tournament. A lot of people just look at the final video of a batch of tournies, not taking into account that the winner may have counter-picked his opponent (not just for the last match but all the matches in the finals by watching him play beforehand). So far, it seems that the majority of nonscrubcharacterbanningsmalllocal tournaments were won by people who don't truly main a character, they play 5 or 6 evenly to have as many counter-picking options as possible.
