They will probably have a demo with the gamecube controller but because the Wii will be out for a little before brawl people should see the wiimote for other demos first. They could also put a sign up saying it isnt the controller that comes with the wii. If people want a wii they should know the controller by now or by the time they buy it.

They'll either think it's a ripoff or be relieved. They also might think you can get it for gamecube and then do ridiculous things to spread the fake news around. The worst thing that can happen is it ends up in the newspapers and EVERYBODY thinks it's a ripoff. And a bunch of threads to close.

Edit: Zombie, you make a good point, it probably won't happen. But it is something funny to think about! But this thread will probably be closed due to zombie's valid point...

Problem being that you have to buy the VC controller seperately. So unless it comes packaged with the game...
Not a problem for Nintendo :p

But I would rather use the GC controller. I hate the positioning of the left analog stick on the VC controller.

i dont kno...i think it would b weird seeing a ssbb demo in a store wit a gc controller...since they're trying to show off their wii and not their gamecube....and since the demos in da stores have multiple games to play...all the other games will have to use the wii-mote...and i doubt they will put both the wii-mote and the gc controller...well they might do dat at like gamestop...but not walmart...well...all of this is with the assupmtion dat ssbb will not b da only game on the demo disc....if it is the only game...then yeah...they could have the gamecube controller very easily.....peace

Well it'll be about a half year after Wii's release so it might actually draw people to the demo station because they see an outdated controller.

Ending your game.
We're all used to the Gamecube controller; changing to anything else will probably be a little disorienting for people who will switch between playing Melee and Brawl.

sure we're all used to the gc controller, but weren't we all used to the big bulky N64 controller? This is a new era of SSB nd I would love to use the vc controller for brawl, it would kinda make it a little different.

i found the Wavebird a much better experience then the gamecube controller. Even when I lock onto with a normal Gamecube controller it's just so weird.

The wavebird has a different weight to it, and even the slightest difference will throw you off.

I know too, because I have a wavebird, and none of my friends do. :p Countless times I have torn out the controller. XD

Well yeah. No one wants to wave their arms around like a gimp. I cant imagine playign smash with a wiimote Id probably end up hitting myself in the nads.

Infact, the wiimote itself is ********. hand held controllers just work... stupid nintendo always trying to be unique, and then sonys right behind them copying their every move and selling it for 5x as much.

Whats happened to gaming recently? I wish they still made SNES games :(

Hmm, well, would be weird to see a Gamecube controller hanging out of the kiosk, but I assume they will put a sign. Or give you a classic controller.

Dylan_Tnga, they are trying to be unique, but not for SSBB [well, at least not the controls]. I remember reading somewhere that they tried experimenting with the Wii-mote for Brawl, and they didn't like it, it would also have a ton of people suing for all the damages.

Some games work with the Wii-mote, some don't. Playing SSBB with a wii-mote controller is like cleaning a windshield with a plunger, just doesn't work.

The Wii controller does not work well with brawl. It's great to feel like ur becoming a better marksman in first person shooters, with everybody else in the same boat: the HMS Sucky Controllers, but Brawl will require too many quick, precise movements, and the wiimote would be too awkward to perform delicate tilt attacks, crouch cancels, short-hops, wavedashes, dash dancing, ect, ect, and it's too prone to non-responsiveness. The VC controller is designed for older Nintendo games, and that is why it takes after earlier Nintendo controllers, and thus is inferior for newer games. It serves its purpose well, but it's certainly not a fit for a game like SSBB. The gamecube controller will work best. While Nintendo will lose some money because new and casual gamers may not want to buy more controllers, and they wont be selling quite as many wii controllers as they would be if they made them the controller for brawl, they will be making money because they will have made a better choice of controller for their game and more people will buy it, and they will be catering to a very large group of people who have already played Melee, and when it comes to video games, everybody is an archeophile. More people will buy Brawl, and buy Wiis just to be able to play Brawl, if they make the GameCube controller the default for Brawl.

If they do have a kiosk demo, it will certainly use the classic controller. The customers or passers-by that use the machine won't care how the game "feels" because most of them won't be hardcore Smash players. Many might not even know what Smash is. The classic controller would be a huge adjustment for the members of this board, but not for the average customer.

In my view, that's not so unreasonable. Nintendo (as well as the store itself) would want to promote new products anyway. They most likely wouldn't showcase Gamecube hardware because it's old. Considering how wildly the Wii is selling, the stores are going to want to sell as many classic controllers (and other accessories) as possible, and will gladly set-up a kiosk that uses the classic controller primarily if a non-Wiimote game like SSBB comes along.

I think that the game will be shown using a Classic Controller, as it'll be easier to do then to have a GC controller.

Reasoning? The GC controller has to stick up from the top to be plugged in, where as the CC could just have a little opening so that the chord could pass through. Also, Nintendo's going to want to encourage items for the Wii, not for the GC.

Well, Brawl could potentiallly use both the VC controller or the Gamecube controller, so at the stores, they would have the demo set up with the VC controller, but on the box it could say you could optionally use the GC controller.

I love how almost EVERYONE on the boards makes a comment about hiroshi's posts and tell him to learn how to type. He isn't changing the way he types, you should just put that in your sig hiroshi.

Hiroshi's stlye of writing does not bother me, unless he tries to make an essay with it... Actually, any longer post, most of his are short.

Well, I agree as well, Classic Controller is what they will most likely do.

Wii classic controller FTW.
But I wonder if you could play Gamecube games with the Wii Classic Controller
When you could play SSBB with a Gamecube Controler?

Edit: That IS why they makes the Classic controller <___<
They figured out that it would be hard to waveshine, dashdance, wavedash and al thos techs with the Wiimote so they developed the Classic Controller ^___^

(What if the Wii Classic Controller was made BECAUSE of HAL... o_O)

I predict on realease date
1. many crazy people waiting all through the night
2. Someone will be hurt by a crazy person yelling "FALCON PUNCH"
3. Out of pure joy someone will eat a copy of Brawl and go to the hospital
4. Either crys of extasy or lamnent wailing from smashers every were causing tidal waves
5. Someone may very well die

As for the controller issue I wouldn't expect Wal-mart and other deparment stores to care enough to properly set-up a demo (or even know what they are doing , no offense if you work there ) maybe Best-Buy, I would definatly try Gamestop or EB or any game specialty store for a demo.

Dude when this game comes out I'm gonna cease to exist. Kind of like what happens to some people when they start playing World of Warcraft. It's gonna be like that.
