When are the next Conferences and Nintendo Directs?

I know there's no guarantees but when is the next known Nintendo Direct and/or E3-like event?

October is pretty much the end of Con season so there won't be anything major until the Game Developers Conference in March 2014. As for Nintendo Directs, Nintendo does them once a month and generally only gives gaming news outlets a single day's warning before they happen.

I thought I heard somewhere they did one every two months? If so, we'll have something for December (June: Smash 4 at E3 with alot of veterans plus Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Megaman. No announcement in July although we got Olimar in that month. We got a direct in August that showed off Luigi. September had no direct but we got Peach and Toon Link. And October of course had a direct that showed off Sonic.)

I guess, at this point, we'll get a Direct for Zelda and Mario in a couple of weeks. Maybe two separate Directs.

They do, though sometimes they do special ones like a "3DS Direct" or a game-specific one in-between.

For example, las year they had a Nintendo Direct in October and December, but also had THREE of these small Directs in November, two "Wii U Direct" and a game-specific one for NSMB 2.

So, we may get something in November for Zelda or Wii U's holiday lineup, and we should have a "full" Direct by December for sure.

They do at least one every month but the noteworthy ones are typically every 3 months. The smaller ones are usually Japanese exclusives and focus on one particular game.

Besides Xbox One stuff, so far we know it's showing previews of fall Nintendo games (they said Mario 3D World and Zelda: A Link Betwwen Worlds). Smash is obviously not a fall release so that's why I have doubts.

Just brought it up in particular because it's a pretty obvious time to talk extensively about Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS as one of the highlighted titles for next year. Expect more then just a brief mention, by the way. We'll probably learn more then normal when that Nintendo Direct comes around.

I don't think that there will be a Nintendo Direct until January. There is no reason to have one this month and if you are going to talk about games that will be released in 2014, you might as well save your announcements until 2014 starts. It's there that I expect a trailer for a newcomer.

There is going to be a Nintendo Direct Tomorrow, but I heard they're going to focus more on 3ds games. Maybe they might show off some gameplay for the 3ds version since we haven't seen a lot from it.

Maybe they'll just show those 3DS screens that came out yesterday and call it a day.

Or maybe they'll reveal Isaac (for being a portable character) and give us a date for the 3DS version!

They said the direct tomorrow will focus on only previously announced 3DS titles that are coming up. I don't think they'll reveal anything grand this month, especially when Marth was already revealed last week.

I think they might save bigger details and news in a Direct next month in December. It is close to Christmas after all, so there could be a treat!

I agree with this sentiment. It is so challenging to maintain a reasonable attitude and perspective once the hype is evident. Don't disappoint me Sakurai, be kind!

It is part of the Smash speculator's nature. Why wouldn't a speculator be excited to see what they are speculating about? Haha.

I don't think they'll show it, considering it's for Wii U and this seems to be all about 2013 and early 2014 3DS games.

The Luigi and Sonic Directs also said that they were only for games coming out later in 2013, but still revealed them. Now I hate being the guy to whip up hype, but... yeah...

I doubt they will just not mention smash bros. though I don't expect much of an announcement about it either. My guess is they'll explicitly confirm costumes. We already know it's in the game, but know they'll just say it in words.

but because I want to build hype, here's a list of things they can mention about smash bros.

-a release date
-roster size
-returning character reveal
-newcomer reveal
-new stage reveal
-information on how the 3DS version interacts with the WiiU version
-Smash Bros. Wii U bundled with the console upon release (they should seriously think about that, would vastly improved sales of WiiU)
-New video footage of the game.
-WiiU and 3DS demos that will be downloadable right after the direct
-Free smash bros game for all early adopters of the Wii U

Oh, I was replying to someone hoping for info on "Yarn Yoshi" (a Wii U game).

I know Smash is a possibility considering it'll come out for 3DS, but I'm still not hoping for much.

I'm just happy there's gonna be a Direct. I need more info on ALBW before buying it, but it looks to me it's shaping up to be a superb game. Looks incredible.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see anything Smash-worthy, though. While Zelda or a Mario character makes sense, I doubt they'd do it too early like last time. All possible though, they've done weirder things in the past with Directs.
