There's been a few "What's your..." questions in the Pool Room, and all I want to know is, what's your phobia? What do you fear most?

I have a fear of heights. Being a resident of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), the CN Tower has always been a problem for me.

My only phobia that I know of is swimming in water, looking down, and not being able to see the bottom. There's just something about looking down and seeing pitch black below me that makes me panic.

I get really freaked out when I'm in serious pain, like one time I had injured my neck and I was in a neck brace...it was torture to lie down and get back up again, I was so scared to get back up from lying down...and that feeling of helplessness *shudders* even worse

No one believes me when I tell the this, but I am scared of orange blanets. I honestly don't now why I have this irrational fear, but the site of orange blankets give me the hibbie-jibbies!

Probably sometime in your early life you had a traumatic experience, which could explain this weird phobia. But out of all the things I've heard in my life, this has got to be the one that takes the cake.

I don't think that anyone will deny that they fear heights, so I won't bother to list that one as a fear of mine.

What do I fear, then? I almost thought to put, "Nothing." but something came to mind... Girls! I fear Girls! Woe is me!

*looks over to his left...* Whoa! Okay, I'm happy again. :D Ahhhhhh, hot chicks are so refreshing.

Heh, im still scared of the dark. Sometimes when it's late and all the lights are out, I flick on the lights in a room before I enter so I don't freak out. Then I realize what im doing and calm down a little. I needed a night-light till I was about uhh, I wanna say 15. At least I can laugh at this though. :D

EDIT: Erf? Is that like, derf? And you shouldn't beat the sensors like that, you big meanie. At least do something like bast@rds so you don't draw so much attention to the naughty word. Geez, what were you thinking? :p

Oh and uh... that's a mean thing to say, anyway. Guys without fathers shouldn't be hated. :p

Not that i'm scared of heights, i can be as high up as i want, but if the hight has a steep slope, i crappy meself.
PorCorpWis has a pretty good one too. And to extend on DOS' one, i don't like being in a room on my own at night. Especially my kitchen, when all that's on is a little lamp, and most of the curtains are open, but not fully. For some reason, i expect a hairy face with staring eyes to look at me!
And in my bathroom. There are so many mirrors, the odds are that a face will appear in one of them!

I have an extreme aversion towards the People's Republic of China - perhaps fueled by the strong cross-strait animosity that exists here in the Taiwan area (where I reside). Technically, I carry the US passport, but living here since two just opens my eyes to the moral and political decadence in the PRC. And you wouldn't believe how much I hate some of the local politicians who support Taiwanese reunification with China , namely James Soong of the PFP. Oh, how I crave to feel my titanium blade penetrate his unworth skull, and see his filthy cerebral cortex dribble out in gory globs... Ok, that's a bit more than you want to know. Let's not get started on this...

Well on the daily-life level, I hate public speaking, and I hate people who don't have a feel of their own abilities. "Know thyself, conceited ***holes!"

A skull is actually quite hard to penetrate with a knife, you will be better off with inserting it into the heart and letting it beat itself into shreds.

Me, I have a fear of non-enclosed heights. Standing on the glass floor at the CN Tower or staring out the cockpit down to the Earth 35,000 feet in the air doesn't faze me. However a ladder going up 5 meters will. So climbing up the Eiffle Tower wasn't very pleasant. Actually make that a phobia of falling from heights rather than heights themselves.

That and anything with more than 4 legs. Not exactly a fear, but more of a "eeuwgh" feeling.

I have a fear of bears. I'm always out in the woods, and in the daytime, I have no problem. But as soon as it gets dark, I'm freaked out of my wits. And my fear is not unfounded. One of my friends was attacked by a bear one night while we were camping. He was in a different tent, but I woke up and saw the bear whacking his tent. Luckily no one was hurt, except the tent.

I also have a fear of laughing gas. Most people think that it is great stuff that knocks you unconcious for a while, but when I was little, my dentist forgot to take off the mask and almost killed me with that evil stuff. I can still smell that wierd, fake bubble gum smell.

I have SEVERE arachniphobia. I can't stand spiders. If there's one nearby, I'll probably scream and run as fast as I can. If I were to wake up with one on my bed, I'd probably faint. I can't get close enough to them to kill them. It's awful. I can't stand them ::shudder:: o.o;;

On my own note, I'd like to point out some things.

1) Nictophobia~Fear of the dark. I LIKE the dark. I CAN'T SLEEP, unless I'm in the dark (actually, the sun makes me sneeze , so my dad calls me the Bat).

2) Acrophobia~Fear of heights. I like heights very much. I enjoy them. Heights are great fun to me.

3) Claustrophobia~Fear of enclosed spaces. I like enclosed spaces. As long as there's enough room to move a bit, and I get out eventually, I enjoy it.

Aquaphobia~Fear of deep water. I actually have a REASON to have this fear: when I was really young, my swimming instructor shoved my head underwater, and I almost drowned. And yet, I love water. I'm semi-fish.

Arachniphobia~Fear of spiders/bugs. I don't like the idea of one biting/stinging me, but I don't really mind them, as long as they don't pose some sort of threat.

So, as you see, I'm OPPOSITE of many common phobias. However, I have one phobia that is brand new, and only a few have it:

Rossiphobia~Fear of my best friend. He hits me and other people all the time for no reason. I'm terrified around him; a sudden movement of his arm makes me put up my guard.

Actually this sounds kinda lame, but i'm actually not afraid of anything to my knowledge.

I've loved heights ever since i was little and at an early age developed obsessions w/ climbing the highest tree- or jumping from the roof of my grandpas two story house. I've been a daredevil for as long as i can remember- and what's worse is, i never seem to get hurt. I know it's some sort of false sense of invincibility- but there it is nonetheless. Oh can't forget jumping off cliffs into lakes, that's some fun right there. Though i still haven't been skydiving. :(

No fear of bugs or wildlife, i'm also a big fan of camping. Actually it kind of creeps me out to kill semi large bugs. My g/f will want me to kill a spider, and instead i'll go out of my way to take it outside. Bees, hornets, blackjackets- i always swatted when i was a kid, i've been stung once when i was like seven but all the times i've swatted them, i've kind of got a feeling that they just won't sting me. A false sense of security i konw.

No fear of the dark, or claustrophia. Ever gone spelunking? now that's fun- once you're a quarter of a mile under ground crawling on your belly in the mud w/ the ceiling 6in above you, it's no time to be afraid of the dark. So dark, theres not even enough light for you to pretend to see things when you turn your flashlights off. Oh did i mention the bats and blind crickets. hehe that reminds me- we dared this one kid to eat one and he did. very crunchy :p "it tastes like burning-"

Moving on, i'm not afraid of water, dark water or otherwise- i've also always loved to swim and the water in general, i can't even remember a time when i couldnt' swim, i'm what some call a 'water baby'. Well whatever since i don't live by a coast that means swimming in lakes- and no you can't see the bottom and yes it's freezing like after 3ft and you wonder what's down there.

Hmm, that about sums things up- oh wait i'm not too keen on public speaking, but i'm not awful at it- i dunno, the things that get me most on fear factor are like having to eat questionable things, but hey it is a million dollars right?

My top 3 phobias (in no paticular order) :

1. Arachniphobia: Mainly fear of spiders, I have these terrible dreams about huge spiders right in front of me. I yell like mad in my dreams. I would probaly afraid of scorpions if I saw one, but I never have seen one. Once, I thought I saw this huge spider in a box in my garage, and I ran like mad out of there.

2. Aquaphobia (I think this is what its called) :
I'm not afraid of all water, like in hydrophobia. I can swim in a swimming pool. In fact I could swim anywhere. I am just afraid of the deep sea. For some reason, when I play video games with deep sea settings, like in Majora's Mask in great bay. I am probably afraid of all the giant creatures under the ocean, like big whales, or giant squids. Also, if I saw a shipwreck, it would scare me.

3. Fear of ghosts (I don't knwo the technical name) : Ever since I saw that "scariest thing that's ever happened to you" topic where people told stories of ghosts they have seen or heard of, I have been sort of scared of ghosts. They probably don't exist or wouldn't bother me, but thinking of some evil spirit thing you couldn't catch or stop just scares me.

I hate going really fast. That feeling where your going too fast to control yourself. I also hate bugs. Ugh.

I have a strange fear in my opinion, the fear of falling. I don't mind going up in high places or have a fear of spiders (although they are kinda ewww), but the thought of falling forever scares me so does the fact that when you finally do reach the ground all of the bones in your body will break or worse...
Luckily falling forever won't be happening so i'll be ok :)

I have a fear of the dark. I hate it when you can't see just what is out there. I'm also afraid of ghosts.

Unlike my friends, I am not fearful of bugs and spiders. For laughs I like to take a harmless bug and show it to my friends. They jump, like, 5 feet in the air!

Not a great deal, I don't have a fear of heights or having a corrupt cop shooting me or an off-coloured blanket doing something not of the legal variety. I guess my biggest fear would be being poor or dying young or something shallow or whatever.

I have an intense fear of dissapproval. I will get nervous when I do something because I think I'll offend someone. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing bad in wanting people to like you, but sometimes the measures I take can be ridiculous. For example, I will sit here for minutes upon minutes typing one paragraph because I don't want to anger Gid or the other staff here. That's why I have such a low post count for someone who's been here for 6 months. Perhaps it's not that bad that I want everyone's approval, at least I don't spam!
