Ike's Fthrow against a wall is so much fun. Not many people know that Ike has a chaingrab.

Most people don't actually refer to it as a chaingrab, they call it an infinite. I call it an infinite and a chaingrab.

Not if it doesn't send you into tumble
And no chaingrabs work at %s where the throw sends you into tumble outside of ICs' cgs

That's not an exception because it only stage spikes at %s where you're put into tumble. Before tumble, you don't get stage spiked, and you don't 'bounce' off of walls

Nobody stated anything about bouncing off of walls. Furthermore, can any grab-throws be teched?

you can tech throws that release you into the ground with knockback (wolf and sonic dthrows), but you cant just tech a throw, you need to hit a wall or ceiling/floor

But you have to be in tumble to tech. Correct? If not, then why can't you tech an Ike F-throw that makes you hit the wall ?

I'm not understanding you. Any throw that doesn't cause tumble is unable to be teched or DIed. This is why chaingrabs exist. Most throws or moves that don't cause a tumble are designed to push your opponent away too far to just keep using the same option to hit them. Alot of jabs and dtilts function this way at low percents. However if a wall is in the way, they just get stunned without being able to go anywhere.

Ike's Fthrow (and his bthrow to an extent) don't cause tumble, so you can't tech or control where you are going.

What are the throws that cause tumble shortly after release making it possible to tech it against a nearby wall?

Almost every throw causes tumble immediately and can be teched if there is a surface close enough. I mentioned Wolf and Sonic because their dthrows have a low enough trajectory that you can tech the ground in front of them immediately after being released.

Most throws have an upward trajectory (even if the animation shows you being thrown against the ground) and leave no opportunity to tech the ground.

The special cases are the throws that don't cause tumble, because its kind of rare. These are the throws people hate (DDD/Falco Dthrow, Ike/popo Dthrow) because they result in chaingrabs and easy combos that mighe be devastating.

Let's say Wario B-throws you to a nearby wall. It can be teched because it causes tumble immediately unlike Ike's f-throw, correct?

yes, you can tech the wall as soon as you come into contact with it

...The main point of teching is to prevent yourself from bouncing off walls (in the case of stagespikes anyway)
I was saying that before tumble, you cannot 'bounce' off of walls/floors/ceilings and therefore you cannot tech

I mean you were the one that brought up the DK cargo stagespike so clearly you were the one that stated something about bouncing off of walls.

Well I guess so, if you put it up that way.

Edit: Found the answer.
