Why do people do NOT want to see characters in Brawl?

I can understand why people hate a character, but to the point of not seeing them in the game is excessive right?

I mean if you hate a character for getting in, will it ruin your fun? Will u go crazy just because that 1 character is in; in some way like a sticker or a AT or a PC?

Its ridiculous.

In the past before I've said that I can't see certain characters in as a PC or I don't think they're coming back, but I never said "I DON'T WANT THEM TO BE SEEN PERIOD"

If Brawl is going to be ruined just because of 1 character does that mean u won't play the game?

Anyone who says anything immature sounds like they're from gamefaqs, hell I'll post it right there, as well.

I don't think people care whether or not someone gets in, they are just afraid that their character's spot will be filled. This doesn't affect me since Diddy Kong and Samus will be in brawl..

The only other character I want.. Is K. Rool, and I'd hate for someone like Wolf or Waluigi to get into brawl when K. Rool could have.

It doesn't really bother me that much for who else gets in. I guess I do care about some Veterans though.

I don't not support a lot of characters. (wow, the grammar there was horrendous) The only ones I actually don't want to see are the ones that I dislike for one reason or another.

However, I also am not really supportive of a lot of specific characters either. On most, I am neutral, and argue against them more than for them because I would personally rather see my few supported characters in.

Now, the way my logic works is like this: I know that Brawl has a limited number of characters. However, I also know that all of the characters in the game are complete (if they are not done yet, it's getting another delay). With that said, how much good does it do to support a character and argue that "they should be PUT in Brawl."

All I do with the few characters I support, and say why they should have been included, and hope that they are, and if there is a time I am negative toward a character, I always give a reason. The character in question might be out prioritized, or one of many other reasons, it just depends on the character.

It's not so much that I don't want to see many characters, and if I am not supportive/negative toward a character doesn't mean that I would hate it if they are in, it just means I don't expect to see them in, or would prefer that the character slow be given to another character that is more deserving (or that I like more in some cases).

Of course that is for playable. I don't give a burnt french fry for who gets Trophy or Sticker.

ok let me rephrase what I said, I dont want another character who logicaly doesnt deserve a spot as a PC and hurts a character I want in as a PC then I dont think they should take a playable character spot. but its not like I am going to lose any sleep if ray01 isnt in. although I will be dissapointed for a short amount of time. however I dont care if they are made into a assist trophy or sticker or normal trophy.(sticker seems to be the lowest of low on the totem pole).

I've never seen people so strongly against a character that they don't even want to see them in game as a sticker or trophy... only playable.

This is why plain and simple. Sure they may say they have other reasons, but we all know this just isn't the case.

But how do we know which characters are 'important' and which ones aren't worth the effort. This is where things get icky and in the end it boils down to your personal opinion/bias'.

I'll even admit if i saw a joke character from one of these random threads.... lets say Metapod got in over Ridley/Geno/Captain Olimar/Midna hell even Ashley then yeah I'd be complaining! So truthfully I can be hateful towards certain characters.

Yeeeet I don't think i would ever say anything like 'K. Rool should be a Boss!' because lets face it, thats the sort of thing thats going to come back and bite you when you're waiting on your own Newcomer.

I couldn't agree more! It's the diversity of the characters that makes a fighting game great. Well, and the gameplay mechanics.

It's not that people don't want to see a character in at all. It's that some characters should have PC priority over others. Sometimes it's just obvious.

Geno? Maybe, but only if Sakurai gets through the nasty red tape and paperwork.

Ridley? A proverbial shoe-in if there ever was one.

Lucario? Might be deconfirmed soon.

Ashley? Negligible.

Krystal? Probably a shoe-in too, thanks to all the Krystal furries. But Wolf still > Krystal.

Olimar? Probably, considering he's Miyamoto's brainchild.

I said it the day I started supporting him for Brawl.

Even if Michael /Mike from StarTropics makes it in in whatever shape or form, I'll be happy. At least that means we're one step closer to the ressurrection of the franchise.

Same goes for Crono from Chrono Trigger.

I won't be crushed if Mike or Crono become assist Trophies, cause I already have Sonic, and I can settle with Pit. (I only hope that if Mike doesn't make it in... at least I could still have Ness to fill in that yoyo void)

I was a bit let down with Little Mac becoming an AT... but at least I got to see his awesomeness in 3D. Sure.. I doubt we'll be getting any new Wii Punch Out (with Victorious boxer out), but it's sill to see him there.

I'm not really AGAINST a character not coming into the game at all. But rather than having a roster full of pop-culture characters, which might get OLD in the next gen (e.g. Sheik) I'd like to see those memorable classic characters reach playable status. I mean those characters that NEVER get old, from the 1st gen Nintendo consoles.

I do think that some characters deserve it more than others based on popularity and importance to it's own franchise. For example, main characters deserve it more than secondary characters, obviously. THE main character deserves it the most. Also, I think Ridley and Olimar are VERY likely, but not because I'm a fan of either (because I'm not really). Ridley is not only a main villain in the Metroid series, but he is extremely popular. Olimar is part of an innovative franchise that can be considered a gamecube mascot (imo). Honestly, I think Geno also has a great chance, but this is solely based on popularity.

Yes, I know. I was actually going to mention that, but lets not forget that popularity IS definitely a factor. It's just not the only factor. Of course he's going to put in character's with the potential for a unique moveset, but not only are there a crapload of potentially great characters but who would be great is subjective. Those obscure picks are somewhat based on the team's bias, therefore the only other possible way of guessing who deserves a spot is based on popularity. So far he HAS picked some of the most requested characters.

Those are the only type of characters in there that I don't want in. Maybe not possible for Assist Trophy while you're at it. However, they shouldn't be playable nevertheless. Even if one of them gets in there, I'm going to compliant and don't buy the game because the game is too good to pass up on. Aside from that, any character can do aside from silly choices, like Metapod.
