My college is too hilly. You go up 25 steps just to walk down 35 steps only to go up another 50 steps. No freshman fifteen here.

High School - I don't even want to get started.

College - We just have a lot of stupid, backwards policies, like Creative Writing does not count a writing intensive course. One of my friends is basically wasting his time in class, working on a 25-page portfolio, but it doesn't fulfill his writing intensive elective requirement.

... ... ...

Words just fail to describe... that just puts a stupid lid on the creative process.

Actually, on that note, high school bugs me that in my drama class, and art class (till I just gave up) you can never just do something you really want to. We always have to use crayons in art, or do some very generic and rigid piece of theatre.

Whenever I ask to do something without any restrictions "just once!" we never can. Bugs. The. **** outta me.

we have to volunteer 60 hrs in order to graduate...doesnt that defeat the purpose?

Lets see what else...we have a Bi-polar teacher teaching psychology.

Everytime I ask my math teacher he responds with "I dunno" I.E When is the test or how do I solve this problem?

Because we are the 1st graduating class in like 50 yrs we got no Senior banquet or class trip.

Also alot of our freshmen our pregnant. and alot of them like older guys like me....wtf? Im not catchin a case

-Ciao

Bourbonnais IL||I consider myself competent. AIM:
We have a twisted honors program known as the CAP program.

Basically, how it works, is that kids who excelled in highschool/ACT are given a break.

We take four semesters of crappy philosophy.

(Who Am I, How do you know, What is Good, What is Power)

The classes have good concepts behind them, but they're more of a way for the school to evaluate professors as they seem to just sort of shotgun them. For instance, my roommate had to find out who he was from an oppressed native american stand point.

Seriously, not joking.

The professors add their own spins on the course, some for the worse... The credits also don't transfer.

High School - You were either popular and played at least one sport, or else you were a geek and only knew a certain amount of people.

College - Reminds me too much of High School in the way of education in areas, but it is more entertaining, but I guess I should expect that from a community college.

We have crazy, over-zealous nuns who run rampant at my high school. They're really annoying.

Where shall I start?
About 70% of my High School (Sophomore, btw) are a bunch of hicks...meaning, most are racist, rednecks, or are just plain rude. Guys locker room smells like complete...well, you know. I just can't see how you could let yourself be that crude and go around acting messy and farting all over, but whatever.

The rest are gangster wannabes who listen to rap music on their iPods at full blast.
At 6 a.m. (Or embarrassingly attempt their own...)
On the bus.
I don't want to hear your music when I'm trying to sleep, kthx.

And the minority are just normal people. Typical HS stuff, I guess.

Something I don't like about school are the halls are short. When you go to your locker, it's so crowded and there's lockers across from our lockers so it's very crowded. And you have to share lockers because there isn't enough. It's triple crowded.

This goes for a lot of other people too, but stardardized tests are annoying. I've been taking the Washington Assessment of Student Learning.

I live in Alabama. Poor school funding, sexism, racism, backwards code of conduct policy, and everything else that could possibly suck. My vice principle is also an idiot. Once, I had gotten into trouble, and he sent me to ISS for the rest of the day (which was ten minutes), as if that'd straighten my life out. In addition, I got suspended for two days; best punishment in my life.

I'll make a list and add details where I feel necessary;

-Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Seniors compete for freshmen girls.
-Racism
-Wannabe Gangsters
-A surprising amount of students who read at about a 3rd grade level
-Very "loose" girls
-Almost everyone is on some sort of drug
-Sports teams are ruled by higher up families with money
-Most teachers do a poor job of teaching
-Teachers give the good looking girls breaks and preferential treatment.
-Girls pregnant at 14 years old. =|

This and starting with my year:
-Four years of higher math that isn't necessary for life.
-Advanced biology, physics, and chemistry.
-Three years of history.
-"Health class" which is basically eighteen weeks of being told not to do drugs and what would happen to you if you did.
-And next year's pain in my a$$: taking care of a mechanical baby that knows if you don't treat it right, giving it actual formula from the store, screams randomly day and night, has unremovable batteries, along with actually wetting itself and pooping its diaper.

While it's good to see your highschool has high standards, it sucks the teachers cannot teach. Health was mostly irrelevant for me, except for the actual useful information like first-aid or CPR.

Sounds like you're going to take either home-economics or family dynamics if you're getting the screaming baby. Either classes are essentially useless and cannot provide help because every household situation is unique. It goes on and on about somebody else's ideal of a household. The course cannot provide the common sense needed to function on an economic level. If you're in there to learn how to cook, don't expect much; there is hardly enough time in a given day to teach a class the basics of cooking, much less individuals. My home-ec teacher's method of teaching us how to cook involved breaking the cooking task up among each individual; one person would prepare, one operate the stove, one clean, etc. and therefore we essentially learned nothing.

God, I hate school.

75% of my school are made up of wannabe gangsters... 15% are made up of punk skater type people... 6% are other... which includes normal and quiet people and such... and 4% are really strange people who are just plain odd... really odd. @_@;

We got at least 6 bomb threats this year and a guy once brought a gun to school and escaped (he later turned himself in)...

Teachers lose work sometimes, I once took a test only to see it disappear later on... most of the people are REALLY obnoxious and loud... REALLY REALLY REALLY obnoxious... many people at my school don't act educated or civilized, a class average of 30% doesn't really surprise me. Most people are greedy and selfish but I know that's nothing new. Boy's locker room is basically self explanatory and the same goes to bathrooms (luckily I'm not a girl in that case, I hear that the girl's bathrooms are even worse...).

Racism is a big issue in my school... most of the people at my school are either black or hispanic (I'm black) and so they think they're allowed to say anything they want about white people, asians, and everybody else that isn't black... heck they even talk about black people... ie "I'm black gimme mah chicken! >=O", the term "Mexican" also bothers me... it doesn't when somebody says "I'm Mexican" or something like that... but it DOES bother me when people say "dirty mexican" or "haha you're mexican!!11one". <.<;

Each class is 86 minutes long which is why we only get 4 classes a day... so I'm not really sure if it counts as something that bad. O.o;

I seriously can't go a day in my school without a good facepalm... good ol facepalm will always be there for me at my school. =3

I've been to both public and private schools. The private school I went to (a christian one, ironically enough) was fake and everyone in it was vindictive. There are no standards for highering teachers at the public school I go to, now.

Public school all my life, and I don't think I would have it any other way. You cannot beat the exposure you get in a public school compared to a private school. The people I have met and know from private school have become sheltered (not to say they all like that).

My current school has zero school activites or reasons for wanting to be here. No hype in sports, no clubs that actually do anything, and all you want to do is go home. You would think there would be some kind of school pride.

I think school pride is over-rated and the need to represent is futile. Last time I checked, there wasn't a war going on our anything between my local schools. My highschool is pretty proud of themselves despite their poor performance in every single thing they've participated in.
