Maybe some throws can be aimed and that is R.O.B.'s Fthrow aimed up.

In all likelihood that down-throw "burying" was actually a pitfall that was placed on the ground. Sakurai/Nintendo was mad trolling with this trailer.

Come now. You, I, and everyone else can see very clearly that no such thing is happening here.

DK walking forward would have been enough to trigger the pitfall well before ROB even grabbed him. That's definitely his d-throw doing that. I know most of us don't really use items when playing anymore, but it's not like it's hard to remember how pitfall worked.

Not necessarily. I believe it's possible to pitfall someone from grab.

Stumbled onto another little tidbit, but it seems like characters can now jump out of charging a projectile to compensate for only getting one air dodge. The gyro pressure is about to be REAL

Is there footage that led to this conclusion? I know they advertised it for Samus in the Direct but I didn't think it to be a universal change

Afraid not, it was just mentioned in a video I saw and I extrapolated. Makes sense though, gyro functions almost identially to charge shot as far as the charge portion goes

from this footage it looks like up+b doesn't go as far as it used to

I think there are some things that need to be checked here:

1) What is the full flight time?
2) How does it compare to Smash 4?
3) How fast is it compared to Smash 4?
4) Does tapping still extend the recovery?

Just from looking at it, it looks to last the same or similar amount of time as Smash 4. However, it seems like more in Smash 4 because "tapping" gives us more height and vertical movement. Most ROBs "tap" instead of holding it like it does in this gif.

Here's a thing to consider: how does ROBs Down Throw act if the opponent is hanging off of a ledge?

Many things that cause burying cause some kind of spike in midair - Pitfall's, DK's Headbutt, even WFT's Jab. This would be a potent tool against characters who have difficulty snapping to the ledge if it did the same.

Beep! Did anyone notice during today's Direct that R.O.B.s Down smash duration was longer and spun faster? Also Forward smash looked shorter, like Brawl, but thicc. Lastly, both laser charges seem to use the Brawl Forward smash pose or something similar.......the description says "Giant Rob helps Dr Mario" but Rob didn't look giant to me......either way did anyone notice how much damage Rob was giving even though it was multiplayer?? Hopefully we can finally airdodge out of Up B, and one airdodge means our offstage sniping is going to be a beautiful thing

Beep! Thank you for the link! R.O.B.'s air attacks, gyro, and smash attacks definitely look faster, stronger, and with more range!! Anyone know the verdict on the forward tilt?? Super hyped for Ultimate!!

That twirling double jump looks pretty damn nice. Bair and dair look easier to use with the stall gone. It's also cute seeing the amount of rolls even with the nerfs to them. Gonna take a while for people to drop that habit. Thanks Brawl and Sm4sh~
