What should we call the mystery character from fridays update?

Like said in the "show me your news" podcast. We need an official name for the dark looking character shown in fridays update.

So what i will do is in the next 24 hours u guys will comment on who should be in it. I'l take the 5 top names and put them in the poll. The poll will be up for a limited amount of days. It will end and i will post the results. Since most people who CARE about the mistery character are probley reading this. They will most likely agree with the final name.

What do you guys think?


I think we should call him a heartless because he reminds me of one from kingdom hearts and someone from kingdom hearts is doing music for the game

Knowing Nintendo, they will probably be called "Antii-Mii", but anyway, I think we should name it by what they are called at the game release, I don't think we'll really be seeing anything new about them till then so it shouldn't really matter if it remains nameless.

Considering that we aren't yet sure what he actually is, coming up with a really suitable name that goes beyond the notion of "we REALLY don't know who he is" or "he's dark?".

He could be an enforcer of rules, he could be part of the punishment, he could even be a form characters who broke the rules take on in order to be punished.

Thus, I nominate "Punishment".

Or even better, "Penance".


Ooooooooooor "Penalty".

Yes, I'm done now.

We could call them, at least until the game comes out, "Omen".

Bad things happen to those who break the rules, and then he comes. It is like an omen that something bad is going to happen to the characters.

And, of course, "Omen" just sounds cool.


Second, we could call him "Modea", just because he was revealed as part of ???, which was called "Mode A". However, I know many people who think modea spells "Modea".
Or, we could just call him "mod". He moderates the game and the actions the characters take in it, as well as punishing the characters for wrongdoing, and it looks like he tries to keep the world of Smash uninterrupted.

I thought he kind of looked like a character from the Penny-Arcade comics. . .

But otherwise, I've been calling him, "That weird eggplant looking freak of nature."

Pinocchio, because he seems to be a puppet who "wants to be a real boy" or Smash Bros. as the case may be...
