What Nintendo will do to give us a Storage Solution (Thought out Opinion)

So we didn't get our storage solution at E3, maybe at TGS? Here is my opinion on why we didn't get it.

Nintendo will announce a game like... "Nintendogs : Wii Pedigree." The concept is simple, it's a Wii version of the top selling DS game, Nintendogs, but with a huge improvement. Nintendo will advertise all this downloadable content for the game, such as downloading new breeds of dogs, or maybe even more animals, like cats. Nintendo knows the Wii hard drive can't handle that, so they release a special hard drive with the game. Casuals will buy the game because it has Nintendogs in the title, and the hardcore for the storage solution.

I think I'm spot on there, eh?

Don't get me wrong, though, I don't want that to happen. I think that is why we don't have it yet, why Nintendo pretty much refuses to give it to us. They know they can get a lot of money from milking it with a big title, and I think that is what they are doing right now.

"So for us really our challenge really is"
Redundant much?

Sorry, had to point that out.

"So in our view this is becoming much more of a mainstream problem, which is why we have a sense of urgency to solve it."

Yeah. But you totally care about the hardcore gamers--that's why when we were the only ones saying anything it was just an issue for geeks and otaku.

Bah. I suppose at least this means we'll get a storage solution. That's exciting news. For everyone but Cammie, obviously. I'm sure she'll miss moving on to the next game really quickly like she did before.

Sure, last month Nintendo Europe's Laurent Fischer said the Wii's storage problem was only affecting "geeks and otaku". But that was last month. This month? It's a big problem, one affecting not only the scum-sucking hardcore of Nintendo's murky cash tank, but one affecting everyone. Reggie explains:
Nintendo thinks of their old fan base as scum now? Assuming that something else catches the attention of mainstream consumers a few years from now, Nintendo won't have a fan base.

Nintendo( of Japan) and Nintendo of America have taken the storage issues into hand.

And we all know Nintendo of Europe thinks anyone who worrys about storage is a nerd.

So far, a USB hard drive is impractical, because it is very sensitive, and with all the crazy goons playing the Wii(the ones in the news), Nintendo would be sued alot when they broke their hard drives.
I favor a USB flashdrive.

USB flashdrives wouldn't be a bad solution, just as long as they both released their requisite Nintendo-branded model AND let us use pre-existing 3rd party models. They're cheap enough that it wouldn't dent most people too hard to pick up a decent amount of space.

I still favor the storage solution we have right now for the most part: Open the frickin' SD card slot and allow us SDHC cards. If the data's not being encrypted when it's transferred, it should be more than fast enough to load VC and WiiWare games from. Plus, the 2GB card I've got loaded in there cost me all of--what?--$15? And it'll have space to spare for a good deal of time.
