Don't see never. Sony's PSASBR had the Murder of Crows Vigor from Bioshock after all.

The Music Box from SMB3 could be cool. Puts foes to sleep, and all.

Most of my other ideas were mentioned: Master Ball, Levin Sword, Blue Shell...

Also, the Running Shoes from Pokemon. Put them on, and get a really big speed increase, like an extreme Bunny Hood, but without the jumps.

Running shoes would most likely be a sonic item, since it is more well known from that, and Pokemon X and Y seem to have other options like riding Pokemon and roller-skating

True. I didn't take into account 3rd Party items.

How about Pacman's winged boots them? Like the bunny hood they add nothing but wings to the feet of the characters, that allows them to do infinite middle air jumps for a while. Thought, if combined with the bunny hood and/or used by already flying chars, they can becomes a hazard since they might lead you too up of the screen.

For me, it's time the Poké Balls have different designs.
Normal Poké Balls contain weak, common pokémons (Goldeen, Torchic).
Ultra Balls contain stronger pokémons (Venusaur, Metagross).
Master Balls contain legendaries.
I approve!

Weird, I thought being mostly owned by Nintendo is what made them second party in the first place.

Smashchu doesn't believe in third parties in general.
I understand something like "Smash 4 won't have any third party characters.". It's pretty extreme but it could happen.
The statement "Yeah we have characters, stages, trophies, stickers and music from third party franchise, but HELL NO items it's just plain impossible" is pretty stupid lol.

Brawl didn't have any items from these series. The issue is if the character doesn't come back (which is very likely due to legal, financial and content issues) the item is gone too.
You could say the same about all the stages, music, trophies, and other content the third party characters brought with them.

Those normal don't return anyway. A lot of stages from Brawl will be dropped for SSB4.
Items have been dropped in the past as well, such as the Bumper in Melee, and the Red Shell and Flipper in Melee. If the items are really popular, replace them with original items with equivalent functions.

Sonic is 99.9% in, the only problem is Snake (but I think he'll come back too).

I want more items that mess up the way we play. There is a pokemon in brawl (i don't remember his name, i think it was Manaphy) that change the character between two player for ten seconds. It's an amassing pokemon but it's really rare (i found it just twice in normal play). I want that kind of item, an item that can break the 4th wall (i don't know if it is well used here phrase).

The Whip from Skyward Sword. The limit of whips that can be on the stage at once is 4. The whip has 16 uses, like the Star Rod, Ray Gun and Cracker Launcher. It can be used as a tether grab, for grabbing players, and as a recovery. You can also steal items from other players with it. If you do steal an item from someone with it, you'll drop the whip, and there's a somewhat high chance it will despawn after.

Blue Shell.
Aran Ryan's boxing glove on a rope. (You swing it around and hit people with it. It's full of horseshoes, so it packs a punch)
X Attack/X Special Attack from Pokemon. Boosts our next physical/ranged attack respectively.

How about an item from Wario Land?

You grab a bumblebee, and in exchange for 1% damage, you can now fly upwards. Your moves push you downwards, and it can act like a multi-jump, but eventually when you take about 10%, you're sent downwards.

Baby Yoshi Egg (Super Mario): Can be thrown/attacked to hatch the Baby inside. Once hatched, the Baby Yoshi inside can be picked up, and it will give the user a specially ability depending on the color. Blue can trap other players in bubbles, Pink can help the player float, and Yellow can stun other players with a flash of light.
Berries (Pikmin): It would be like Dragoon parts in the sense that they are only in some battles. Red and purple berries randomly spawn around the stage, and if a character picks one up, it is added to a small berry count displayed next to their percentage/stock. Once they get ten they can unleash a special power - ten red berries produces the Super Spicy Essence, which ups the damage and knockback of the user's every attack for a short period of time (made obvious by a pinkish-red glowing effect), and ten purple berries produces the Super Bitter Essence, which turns the other players into stone for a short period of time. Much like Dragoon parts, characters can drop berries if they are attacked too much.
Bomb Rock (Pikmin): A basic timed bomb item.
E-Tank (Megaman): Another healing item much like the Maxim Tomato or the Heart Container.
Ice Flower (Super Mario): It would behave exactly like the Fire Flower, except instead of burning other players, it would freeze them.
Mega Mushroom (Super Mario): A rarer form of the Mushroom that makes user's massive and dangerous to touch - think Giga Bowser.
Party Dice (Mario Party): Can be thrown to roll the dice. Depending on the number it lands on, it could have a random effect.
Repel (Pokemon): Basically, it works as a forcefield that nothing 'living' can go through. That means no players, pokemon/assist trophies, or any moves that involve a living thing (such as a thrown pikmin or waddle dee) can directly reach the player. However, most projectiles will still work, and the forcefield effect wears off in about 20 seconds.
Retro Mushroom (Super Mario): This one is an interesting idea of mine. It looks like a classic mushroom from Super Mario Bros, and it temporarily turns whoever uses it into an 8-bit version of themselves!

That's all I can think of for now.

I really don't want to have Master Balls in the game, I like the idea of a random Pokemon from your Pokeball. In the heat of battle, you pick up a Pokeball and throw it, praying and anticipating whatever comes out. I think that feeling can't be taken away, even if all you get is Goldeen.

The item I'd like to see is the following:

-Blue Shell: The user currently winning the match will be targeted by the shell. If the person in first place uses the blue shell, the shell will still target the thrower.

Levin Sword from fire Emblem would be ****ing awesome...but the Star Rod kinda does the job of a hybrid weapon already.
Blue Shell would be a little OP, although with Smash's dodging mechanics it shouldn't be incredibly hard to dodge, like in MK.
A Master Ball that only carries legendary Pokemon would be awesome too.
And the Elemental Shields from Sonic 3 would be god-damned awesome, I'd say that the Thunder Shield would make your second jump higher and attract items towards you, the Bubble shield would replace your D-Air with a bubble meteor-smash and protect you from water-based knockback (FLUDD, Squirtle...), and the Flame shield would turn your second jump into an horizontal dash attack with fire, all three of them can soak up one hit before dissapearing (Or over time)

I want and demand the Piece of Power from Links Awakening. It would boost your knockback and damage for a short time.

A new Mario item would be cool. I'm thinking about the Ice Flower, and it would be able to freeze enemies.

Lastly, a new Pokemon item would be neat. Maybe a Potion to heal you a bit?

I was thinking a Hand Axe from Fire Emblem would be a cool item it can work like a boomerang but it flies past you [or hits you] if you fail to catch it on the return.

Also you guys need a Sonic item? Could have one of the various shields from the series be one.

I would like an item that temporarily inverts your opponent's movement scheme. It would be fun during chaotic matches.

An idea for an F-Zero item would be a Turbo Booster.

It would be a mechanical-looking capsule. If you throw it at the ground, it makes an arrow-esque boost pad on the floor pointing opposite of the direction of the character who threw it. Stepping on it plays a sound like the Raptor Boost and sends you FLYING in that direction (no damage, like if you were pushed by FLUDD). Hitting someone with the capsule has the same effect, sending them towards you. You can also turn around throw it directly under your feet, a very helpful option for heavy characters like Bowser or Ganondorf to get in.

You know those things in Sonic that give you power ups?
I hope they add those things.

If the box has rings:
Stamina: It raises your percent by 25%
Stock/timed: It takes away 25%
Coins: Gives you 25 coins

If it has a life picture (pic of Sonic)
Stamina: Replenishes your % to its maximum
Stock: gives you one stock
Time: Gives you a point
Coins: gives you 100 coins

And then the shields.

Fire emblem shields: What happens is when you press A (assuming you are using a GC control), you fly in a straight line, and you can hold it down as long as you want to fly as far as you want. You can let go of it, and use it again, and it goes on forever until you let go, or the power up ends. It knocks characters backwards horizontally.

Bubble shield: Using this in the air will cause you to go downwards at the same speed kirby goes down when using down B. You can stop falling by letting go of A, and it will cause a short hop in mid air as if you bounced on something. If quickly pressing and letting go of A repeatedly, you can actually go upwards. This is mainly used as a spike, and since it takes away all of your regular attacks, you have to rely on special moves to hit your opponent over a blast zone, where you can use the bubble to spike. Since this item will be really hard to make use of, it will KO no matter what when used on an opponent over the blast zone. If used on a grounded opponent, it just sends them slightly upwards regardless of percentage.

Lightning thief shield: This shield, when pressing A, causes you to hop while sending out electricity. Again, this can be used however many times in the air, and when used against an opponent, he/she/it becomes paralyzed. Nothing much to add here.

I know the shields could be OP, but they are items, and most of you will have them turned off.

how about the wing cap box from super mario 64? it could add an extra jump or a couple for a while
and maybe the bomchu from legend of zelda? it could go around like the hothead until it hits somebody and blows up
and if maxwell from scribblenauts isn't a playable character, make maxwell's notebook an item. pick it up, and it draws a random thing to assist you in battle; a regular item, a drawn weapon such as a sword, or a creature such as a t-rex

Appears randomly in some place of the stage, sometimes it will be moving. Hitting it make it pop-out, releasing an item, or making it explodes (like capsules). Cannot be picked.

Huffin Puffins

Appears at the stage and starts moving (like a Mr. Saturn) Pick it and throw at enemies, and it will return back to you like a boomerang

Tires

Acts like springs bouncing everywhere, however it cannot be picked, but could slowly move forwards if someone knocks it.

Orange Grenade

Pick it up and throw, it will slowly move forward but bouncing very high. It will explode if someone touches it, but if nobody touches, it will automatically explode after about 6. It can be picked up in the air and can be trowed back, just watch out the time limit of it!

TNT barrel

Like a barrel, but explodes for sure... but beware because sometimes it will chase you!

Sounds more likely for a Pokemon to do that.
Because Palkia could easily do that. Dialga would be cool to mess with the speed of time of the characters. But would it affect everyone or just your opponents? Because if Palkia did flip the stage the game could flip your controls as well so your left is still left but it isn't for your opponents.

I like it.

WILDCARD
A rare item that works differently for each character.
It gives the character a move that is far from as powerful as a Final Smash.
Once picked up, it disappears, but unlike the FInal Smash, your character doesn't show any signs of having its power stored.
Neither does it make the camera focus on you. Use it by pressing neurtal B.
Attacks are unblockable but can be dodged.

Link shoots an Ice Arrow that freezes the opponent similar to Ice Climbers Blizzard.
It does 28% damage with low/med knockback.

Megaman drains an E-tank to restore 25% health.

Wario eats a can of beans that takes his Waft to Max Charge Level.
