I can't very well play as anyone but myself, can I?
When I read that Verm, I couldn't help but think of Ganon's smug stock icon in Brawl.
:ganondorf:
I mean seriously look at that grin. He looks like a car salesman; an evil car salesman.

"No interest, no Rupee's down, and all located in the convenient Gerudo Desert! Come on down and get your very own car for the low low price of just one soul/triforce piece today!"

I used to do good tech chases with his side B back in Brawl but lost interest because of randomly tripping. Then in sm4sh tripping got removed, new ledge mechanics and rage made him so much better.

I don't recall much who I was playing in Melee and Brawl, I think I only barely used 'Dorf in Brawl, but I never played competitively in those games anyways. I remember picking him when I started SSB3DS because why not I already liked the character himself and it sounded interesting.
That was the revelation. I quickly grew up loving him for his overwhelming power, satisfying moves like utilt, taunts and everything else. One particular thing I like is the mindset needed to play him. It just feels different from the other characters, and I always was fond of playing with the mind of my opponents, only to make them feel weak for losing. I believe me liking Shogi as to do with that.
Also that board, really, I would have given up any hope of being good and would have deemed Ganondorf as garbage if it wasn't for what I saw here, both videos and all those talks. I can't explain why but I also have a good feeling here.
That's all I can say, I have much to learn to be able to master that mind screwing thing I like so much.

I was playing some For Glory, and I decided "What the heck, I'll play some Ganondorf."
I won. Quite a bit. And from then on, I decided to main The Dorf.

Am a Marth main since Melee, but started experimenting with Ganon and Falcon during Brawl minus popular era. When I played PM, I feel at home with Ganon as well. Since then, I picked up Ganon in Brawl and transitioned him to Smash 4.

Edit: I also like to style and disrespect.

I actually hated Ganondorf in Melee because I had troubles to deal with him, both CPU and players back then. Later Brawl came out and heard how much he got nerfed, but for some reason I really liked his new playstyle and became my second favorite character.

Glad he hasn't changed much in Smash 4, so Ganondorf remains in my top 3 favorite characters as well.

Started using him in brawl to humilliate my victim but he grew on me even if he sucked ass. He still sucks balls, not ass munch, but he still does

He's still my most used character in smash 4 and people can't pick on at me if I lose cause I'm ganondorf. He's a jail free card of sorts

I've been using Ganon since Melee. He simply clicked with me; I enjoyed seeing people fly whenever I hit them. Ganon is perfect for people who like to be rewarded for making good reads. Also, it feels great when your opponent lands all these combos on you, but all it takes is one good hit to undo all that effort. Yeah, do your silly u-tilt x 1000 combo, whatever...I'll just u-smash you later and take your stock.

And yes, Ganon is the undisputed King of Disrespect. Love seeing stuff like a reverse Warlock Punch getting caped (surprise!), or landing a u-tilt at a range the opponent doesn't think will connect. Gotta love players who try to juggle you with u-air for eternity, only to eat a down B and get KO'd at low % for their trouble. And then there's the flame choke...I've loved that move ever since I got my first KO with it in Brawl. I'm surprised there hasn't been a compilation vid of sending people to hell.

Ganon will always be my main. He's too much fun to use.

Because he brings me way more victories than anyone else in the cast by a ridiculous margin. Makes me afraid this will turn out to be too good to stay this way.

I absolutely love his punish game and his raw power. Also his smashes feel so satisfying to land.

Back when I first started out as a Captain Falcon main (in Smash 4 that is) I was watching some tourneys to try to get better since I knew Falcon was an oft-played character. I decided to try out Ganondorf after seeing Bizzarro Flame body some Pac-Man at Come On And Ban 6.

What sealed the deal was a game in For Glory where I sparta-kicked a Diddy all the way across FD for a KO.

I played him back in :ganondorfmelee: because I was someone who liked slow deliberate characters who will ruin your stock in just a few hits (:jigglypuffmelee:). The JigglyDorf combo was what carried me basically all through Melee.

In Brawl.... both were god awful. Found myself playing plenty of :warioc::olimar::gw:&:popo::icsmelee:.

Now, my main duo are still there in power... not quite to Melee power but they can really hold their weight. :4jigglypuff::4ganondorf::4wario2::4bowserjr: power, go!

When I first picked up Smash 3DS, I played a lot locally with friends, but I always found trouble racking up a lot of damage. I could only land a few tilts every now and then (At the time, I was an atrocious Shiek). I was playing a good friend of mine, and we were just testing out random characters against each other, and Ganondorf just really appealed to me. Even if I could only tack on a few hits here and there, with Ganon, the damage output as huge.

Then I started labbing with him and found out that you could Flame Choke -> D-tilt, and that alone sold me on the character. Ever since then I fell in love with the character.

In Tekken: King.
In Soul Calibur: Astaroth.
In BlazBlue: Iron Tager.
In Street Fighter: T. Hawk.
In MvC3: Nemesis AND Hulk.

Seems Like there's some sort of patt- oh yeah, I like my heavy hitters and grapplers. Adaption, Prediction and Reaction.
I Like reading and baiting playstyles in all fighters, so after seeing how the most evil of all fighters was bottom of the tiers, I had to see why.
I was fortunate enough to have a rapport with the dark lord, and so he let me continue using him in all his mighty and sexy glory.
Many years later, I got SSB4 and now I wreck shop in the name of the one true ruler. Ganondorf.

For me, I always picked Ganondorf over Captain Falcon and more than the other Zelda characters. Until Super Smash Bros. Melee I honestly never knew who Ganondorf was, and my general playstyle in the games is to pick a character who I deem a good defender. This ended up being the slower and more powerful characters, such as Bowser, Roy, and Ganondorf himself. The fact that he was a warlock with dark powers helped win me over with him back in Melee's early days. Brawl came along and nerfed him considerably, but I never picked Captain Falcon over him more because of that (less actually). Come 4 and I still end up using Ganondorf over Captain Falcon by an overwhelming margin (which applies to the other clone characters as well).

Getting more to the point, I don't like rushing in when fighting particularly much unless I'm using Sonic and I'm more of a defensive type of player who likes to wait until the opponent makes a move first, and I also like picking powerful characters who generally deal high damage and knockback. Ganondorf is incredibly slow I know, but his power makes up for it to me. That and I've actually gotten attached to his portrayal in Melee more than his portrayal in Zelda canon (excluding my favorite depiction of him in Hyrule Warriors).

I'm that type of guy who likes clones more than the original. I was going to use Falcon but ended up using Ganondorf mainly because he appeal to me, also the disrespect this man brings is really intriguing (them spikes and U-tilt kills tho).

I used to play Falco in Melee, but then in Brawl, thunderstorming was just too cool. I was sad when they took it out of this game, but at least they gave him some other buffs.

Just looking for secondaries and set my eyes on Ganondorf! I used to think that he was bad, but I daw so many things that just yelled potential for me. Than I started playing him on FG and really liked him. Now he's in my pocket for tournaments!

I don't really have a grand story. He was a clone of my main from the first one, so I tried him out in Melee out of curiosity and never turned back. Ironically, I'm now very against the Falcondorf moveset.

Okay, so back in Melee, I loved Captain Falcon (and still do). Eventually I unlocked Ganondorf, and it hit me: Ganondorf had the Falcon Kick and the Falcon Punch? So I tried him out some more. I dug deeper and found he had all kinds of similarities to Falcon. I brushed it off and kept playing Falcon. Much later, I played Melee Ganondorf again and just loved him. Seeing my enemies fly out of my way just felt amazing. Even if he was a clone, I found his playstyle very enjoyable.

Then came the Smash 4 hype train, no one knew what our old friend would be like. Personally, while I wanted an appropriate moveset, I secretly hoped his old moves wouldn't be taken away (Kind of like Samus's beams in Project M), I grew too attached to them. When 4 came out, I really got into Ganondorf and started using him online. No one suspects just how powerful the man can be.

Sit down and let me tell you a story my students. Once, I was but a boy, a dirty filthy casual who only played for fun. I was the strongest of the casuals even, I was King of the Casuals. That's when it all changed...my friend informed me that he was going to a smash tourney in Utah...I knew then that it was my destiny to go, for I wanted to be more than a filthy casual.

So I went...and I was brought down the first round (of course). BUT. I became a better man because of it, this is when I came upon the King of Disrespect; Ganondorf. It was love at first sight...I said my goodbyes to my days as a Fox main and moved on. To this day I still rek noobs with my Wizard Dropkicks, F-Air flourishes and Short hop D-air's.

The end.

If it wasn't for this video,
I wouldn't have tried to even main him at all. Honestly, back then, I didn't know he was that good, I was just having fun, but now I'm at smashboards studying him like crazy!
