Actually getting to play. I was the youngest out everyone who came to our cousins house, so yeah...

$40 for the game was way too much to spend on me back then

I wonder who really began the whole fair->uair->up+B off the edge of dreamland combo (with its many possible setups on-stage of course)... I've been using it among other combos for a good while in the Falcon vs. Falcon/fox/etc. matchups, but I can't remember where I picked it up.

Other players have been doing it for a good while even longer, but who did it first? SSB64 needs its equivalent of the "Ken combo," something with a name.

LOL I guess this is a pretty dumb question.
There is an equilavent to the Ken combo

"Most of the things I used from Melee came from 64. This includes the Ken combo, which came from Captain Falcon in the 64 version."

~ Ken

Sometimes known as the "Ken Combo" of SSB, this combo consists of an up aerial followed by a jump and then a dair spike. The up aerial must connect at the right spot so that there is minimal knockback.

I know that, but the "Ken combo" belongs in Melee.

I meant a symbolic equivalent, not an actual in-game physical one.
As in, a popular combo used by a certain/several chars that has a name. You'd think by now that there'd be 24 "Isai combo"s

Anything really cool in ssb64 is an isai combo.

Anyone remember Darkrain's combos in melee? One of the best.

I don't like melee at all anymore but I still watch melee videos of the best captain falcon players, and awesome falcon combo vids. Weird

Rofl, here's mine;

Besides the obvious times when I was a kid and first bought the game, when I got back into Smash Bros and got SSB, I have only ever used Samus.

Unlocking Ness. I didn't have internet back then, so I pretty much tried everything. And I sucked a lot, so 3 stock normal was still very hard. After I found out I still had to redo it 3 times before I defeated him.

Beating my brother. I thought he was a god of smash for the longest time, and he used to five or four stock me all over the place, with any character he wanted to (I always used samus, because I didn't know any better). Then he went to college, and I started playing on line- three months later he came back and I five stocked him with Falcon. Ended with an amazing combo into a falcon punch and everything. Since then, I've always beaten him consistently.

I got a N-Air, jump U-Air, B-Air with Pika by complete accident. That's what started me playing the game online. I always try to nail this combo, I think I got it once in a posted vid.

The first time I N-aired pikachu off of the **** tent with fox into the upsmash on the ledge above and left of it(pretty common for isai to do but I was pretty happy to do it myself)

Learning how to consistently short-hop was my proudest feat. It was the hardest thing for me when I started.

That is pretty up there WOTG, anyone who I play against at college is amazed that I can do it. And yea it is hard to consistently do when you are thinking about every jump

When I first started improvising my own combos entirely on instinct.

Such as carrying a Kirby up Yoshi's Island with DK Uairs and then smacking him back down into the void with a Fair. And one time this really cool Link combo I did on Hyrule that I can't even remember because each move felt so natural it didn't feel like I was doing anything special until I saw the look on my opponent's face
