What if a veteran in Smash 4 fought their previous game incarnations?

Depends on the arena, I'd wager that :4ganondorf: vs. :ganondorfmelee: would be VERY interesting if both of them had access to L-Canceling and wave-dashing.

Are we counting all the gameplay mechanics unique to each version of Smash?

Melee characters have a significant disadvantage with their garbage recoveries and ability to be edgehogged.

The Sm4sh characters can trump the ledge, and will generally all return to the stage safely. The Melee characters have to rely on raw kills instead of gimps. Also, they can be footstooled by Brawl and Sm4sh crew. The Brawlers would rarely die due to momentum canceling, and most have fantastic recoveries anyway, and they're difficult to combo due to hitstun glitch. The Smash64 crew, though, suffer from 0-to-death combos on everyone, so it'd be a tough bout against the other versions.
