What happens if Marth misses his Final Smash?

Since Marth dashes all the way across the screen to kill you, what happens if he misses? I believe I've seen other characters like Link and Ike only dash halfway then stop, since their Final Smashes seem to be limited. Marth however seems like he can dash super far.

I was hoping that in order to overcome this ridiculously overpowered (and cool) Final Smash that you could easily dodge it. I haven't seen much dodging in the videos, probably because people haven't played enough to really use it. My thinking is that when Marth does his little pose that you should dodge at that time. If he misses you, will he do a short dash or will he suicide himself off the screen?

Well, duirng the pose all motion stops, so it's not that easy to dodge. If he's close enough to you to start with, you may not have time to do anything. Though, you could always just roll behing him if your that close and hope your roll is fast enough.

I suppose you're probably screwed no matter what you do then. Hmm, wait, can it be used in the air? I think the one video I saw of it showed him using on the ground. If he can't use it in the air like Link (and Ike?) can then that would be a great balancer.

Guess what? HE CAN USE IT IN THE AIR!

Surprise! Have fun wondering why the hell they boosted his damage too.

That sucks. I was hoping that they would nerf Marth somehow. He still has his awesome tippers and a killer (no pun intended) Final Smash. I guess that new meme will be:

No items, Marth only, Final Destination. Goodbye Fox! :D

Yeah well, I guess everybody was waiting for the nerf bat... but it seems the devs thought that Marth wasn't strong enough as it was. Who knows, maybe he'll end up being so unbalanced with advanced techs that he'll be banned from tourneys.

I don't have the vid, but if you activate the FS on the ground, you dash to the end of the platform you're on, no further. And (this is hearsay) if you actiavate it in the air, you don't dash at all, you just swipe around yourself.

EDIT: Nvm, you can suicide if you miss from the air.

Next time can you please ask in the Q&A thread instead of making a thread?

I was under the impression that you fly off the stage if you miss.

And just a note: Link and Ike's Final smashes don't make them dash only half-way across the stage.

When Link uses his FS, the triforce shoots out instantly, and if it hits someone, they'll be trapped and Link will dash at them and begin attacking.

Ike's FS isn't even a dash, he just swings his sword, and if someone is hit up, he'll jump of and start hitting them. Think of it as how Metaknight's FS works.

This is by no means broken. During the time that I was playing Brawl, Marth hit with his FS once. He killed one person. OMG! Most characters can do that. I nearly killed two when I was playing Ike. Unfortunately, one of them was DIing well enough to not get killed. The other time, the Marth flew directly off the stage.

And then in what other way is he broken? You realize that the game JUST came out and we already know how to play Marth. He's remained largely unchanged.

Wait until the game comes out and tournaments start before throwing the broken stick.

Lawl.

If Falcon's knee and Marth's FS connect, the universe as we know it will DISAPPEAR!
