One of the most important parts of Smash are the worlds the fighters hail from. Which series would you consider your absolute favorite? For the record, the list is ordered chronically by Japanese release dates.

Mine's EarthBound. The wacky cult classic series is just so memorable.

Man this is tough, I love Super Mario Bros and Mega Man. I went with Super Mario Bros. Man some really tough poll options here.

I can't choose BOTH Super Mario and Mother? What kind of sadism is this?

Wii Fit, clearly.

jk

Pokemon has always been my favorite Nintendo series ever since I got Pokemon Red when I was little... Until this game called Super Smash Bros came along for the N64...

Zelda and Mario are a close 2nd and 3rd.

Tough question. I like a lot of Nintendo series because of Smash, and it's somewhat influenced by my character choices. I guess I'll just make a list, since picking just one would be painful:

My Favorite Series (No particular order):

-Mega Man (Played all of them.)

-Punch Out!! (Played the NES one, plan on getting the Wii game.)

-Wario Land (WarioWare is cool too but I like the platformers a little more. Played them all.)

-Mario/Yoshi (Played pretty much all of them)

-Kirby (Played every notable/main game except Mass Attack)

-Pokemon (Not very competitively, played every gen)

-Fire Emblem (Only played Gaiden, liked it, and am getting Awakening.)

-Earthbound (Beat Mother 2, 75% done with Mother 3, but I haven't played it in a year. Mother 1 is painfully slow though.)

-F-Zero (Only played X, love it)

-Animal Crossing (Started on Wild World, got every game since.)

-Game and Watch (I love G&W Gallery 4.)

-Zelda (Haven't played it a lot but what I have played is great. The NES games are fun and challenging and Wind Waker HD is amazing.)

-NES (I have played Ice Climber and Gyromite. I like them a lot, but not as much as other launch titles.)

I don't know/like these enough:

-Donkey Kong Country (Didn't like the first game that much, but I love DK64.)

-Kid Icarus (Hate the NES game, haven't played Uprising or GB)

-Metal Gear (Own the NES game and that's it)

-Metroid (Again, only played the NES game really. Not my kind of game.)

-Wii Fit (Haven't tried. Probably won't.)

-Sonic (Like the Genesis games, and hate most of the 3D ones I've tried. I don't really like that series much at all for it's boring irritating characters. Sorry Sonic fans, it's just my opinion. I think they overcomplicated a fairly simple and straightforward series.)

-Star Fox (Very unfamiliar with the series. Played SNES and 64 but it wasn't very exciting to me. I prefer sidescrolling shooters like Gradius.)

-Pikmin (I rented it once for Wii. I liked it but it got difficult rather fast.)

I guess Pokemon, just based on how damn much I've played all the games in the series.

The Legend of Zelda and Mario Bros. The two franchises that got me into gaming back in the day.

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out is my favourite video game of all time. Love me some Punch-Out.

My favorite series is Kirby, because the games have such charm with their neat character designs, great music, and variable gameplay. They're also quite fun, of course!

My next favorite would have to be Metroid; exploring alien worlds of such unique design, in solitude, with atmospheric music playing in the background compliments the engaging gameplay of the series.

I loved Kid Icarus Uprising and Pokemon (played many games), and have played a multitude of mario games.

But does smash itself count. I practically worship this game :)

Took a look at the polls, and Zelda, Mario and Pokemon are all tied for first place.

Things are getting serious...

I know it's like picking a favorite child. But like the Highlander says, there can only be one!

Metroid, easily. Next would be The Legend of Zelda.

But Metroid, God, how I love that series.

Easily Pikmin. It's just such a unique game with really cool creatures. I love strategy games, so that's another reason.

Runner ups would be Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Legend of Zelda.

It's tough. I've only extensively played (by that I mean played a majority of games from a series) four of these, being Mario, Sonic, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon. I have played many games in other series, but nowhere near as much as these four.

So going by that, I honestly can't choose between Pokemon, Mario, and Sonic. Mario's games are always really fun and casual, but I love the characters and storylines of most of the 3D Sonic games (I love Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes). The same goes for Pokemon.

Ahh, I can't choose. Sonic's gone downhill so I'll take that out. My vote goes to Mario for casual gameplay and Pokemon for the storylines and being games that I can enjoy on my own.

Gosh there's so many, but I'll be nice to the Starfox franchise and say that will be my favorite. It's up there with Zelda, Metroid, and Mario so it's justified.

Kirby is my favorite. The games are so charming, fun, and well so satisfying to play. I love the characters and the atmosphere. I was ecstatic that the Main 3 are all there in Brawl. I've never missed a game in the series since I was born. Same for Animal Crossing, which would immediately run up.
