What do you Samus players use to shorthop? The control stick, or X/Y?

I am still having a lot of trouble shorthopping with her (just started practicing it), and I am using the control stick because I find it easier to execute a short hop with it.

Samus is actually tied with several other characters for the shortest short-hop time, where you can't hold 'jump' for any longer than 3 frames if you want to short hop. That means you either have to press up on the control stick, or x or y, for under 1/20th of a second. So the trick is really practice, but I will say conventionally, I'm not aware of any pro players besides RockCrock and QueenDVS that use the control stick for all their jumping needs. I personally use X in all instances with Samus except for Double-Missiling and Double-Jump Cancelling, both of which I start with Y.

With the control stick it could be very hard because of the eventuality that the controller is messed up or might not be centered correctly. Besides, I find it way to hard to shorthop with the control stick; I might use it to jump normally for aerial attacks but i tend to use the Y button.

Wow, co and me, I'd love to see your controller. when I press L some sort of shield covers my character.

I jump with the control stick and DM with Y.

Thats how short hopping works.

X/Y for wavedashing

Whatever you like. I think I'm a pretty good Samus and I use the Analog Stick.
