besides smash 64? I agree. but I'm a little biased on thatI think it's fine and swell. It's one of my favorite in the Smash series besides Smash 64. The 8 player Smash is very fun to play time to time and training your own Smash figures is fun! I wish that 3DS version had more content and some of the characters had more what they gave and that Nintendo can fix the internet issues when playing online(both on For Fun and For Glory).
Hehe, Smash 64 will be always in my heart as a personal favorite of mine.besides smash 64? I agree. but I'm a little biased on that
and yeah the internet issues are a bother but if you just play with friends it tends to be better.
mmm true. really thought if Nintendo made some servers or if they let other people set up servers that would help out a lot.Hehe, Smash 64 will be always in my heart as a personal favorite of mine.
Funny thing about that is that even with friends the match can constantly lag, but it doesn't just disconnect like that. On the Wii U version that is(the 3DS version has infuriating lag when someone joins and all). Maybe Nintendo should do that thing in which the network can connect to someone with the same ping as you, it makes thing very not stressful.
*inserts wavedashing*I like it. It's cool.
I don't like some of the campy match ups, and I'd like it if a few things were tweaked to make it faster, but it's a great game.
That sucks. :/mmm true. really thought if Nintendo made some servers or if they let other people set up servers that would help out a lot.
but of course I'm not seeing it.
well actually they may already have servers set up. it just doesn't seem like they're dedicated ones.
yeah...That sucks. :/
No, none of that...*inserts wavedashing*
*no more frame buffer so only GC controllers are viable*
*sonic is made to go faster*
Nothings wrong with the buffer. just referring to an obscure joke with that one.No, none of that...
I like wavedashing, the game doesn't need it. Maybe proper dashdancing, but that's about it. And what's wrong with the buffer?
I dunno, I really liked Brawl minus the tripping and sucky internet matches, It was fun in a way. Final Fantasy Characters would be nice, which one do you think should be in Smash?yeah...
at least it's not brawl though. As long as we don't return to that I think I can live with any new smash game.
and if they add someone from Final Fantasy as a character. that would be nice.
yeah I was mostly referring to the internet matches...I dunno, I really liked Brawl minus the tripping and sucky internet matches, It was fun in a way. Final Fantasy Characters would be nice, which one do you think should be in Smash?
I have personally have had more solid connections (like can barely notice the lag) matches than bad. There is no way to eliminate all lag in online play and people need to accept this. Even games like Street Fighter PC have a bit of lag and I'm pretty okay with it since it's not that bad and it's good enough to still teach you how to play well. Oh unless you're talking about 4 player games, I haven't really tried that...I think it's fine and swell. It's one of my favorite in the Smash series besides Smash 64. One more thing, about the metagame: I wish that everyone can agree on it and help making it grow so the game itself doesn't die on us early.
that's true yeah. but I think the main point that should be mentioned is that this game was meant for playing in the living room with friends or at parties.I have personally have had more solid connections (like can barely notice the lag) matches than bad. Unless a game uses GGPO, which isn't perfect, lag will be felt. Don't forget though, just because you lag a little bit, does not excuse you from playing bad (ex: Bad punishes).
Dedicated servers isn't necessarily a sign of how a game was meant to be played. A lot of FPSes still use peer to peer despite all of their features being meant for online. I do agree that the game's online mode is lacking. It'd be nice to have ranked and unranked matches, and etc. but that require Sakurai to pay attention to the competitive community.that's true yeah. but I think the main point that should be mentioned is that this game was meant for playing in the living room with friends or at parties.
If it wasn't there would be dedicated servers. Amiibo online functionality and more. but it wasn't put in.
if you get hit with a DDD f-smash in a tiny bit of lag that's your fault...
Or a warlock punch. I think those are pretty safe to say that it's your fault lol.
and yeah there's no way there could be something without lag... sadly.

*shields*I find Sm4sh to be too defensive. So much so that it got tedious playing it on-line so I started playing Mario Kart 8 again.
This sums it up pretty well for me as well. It's okay, but I do find myself having quite a lot of issues with it. Gameplay-wise it's better than Brawl, and it's also the most balanced installment yet (doesn't say a whole lot though), but those two things are the only things it really has going for it imo. The online still isn't good enough, its single player modes are really bad, its stages are hit and miss, and I don't really care for most of the new character inclusions as most of them are too gimmicky. The removal of Adventure Mode and Break the Targets in favor of Smash Tour/Smash Run and Target Blast is an absolutely baffling choice as both of those had more of a reason to be replayed than the new modes.
Of course the gameplay is the most important part, so I still wouldn't rate it below Brawl per say, but it hasn't given me nearly as much entertainment as previous installments did, the game has a ton of characters but otherwise it's really thin as far as content goes, there's no reason for me to do anything but 1v1s and Trophy Rush.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the game. Smash 4 is better than Brawl, but it lacks everything that the previous installments have in favor of multiplayer modes. How can I enjoy the game by myself if half of the modes are multiplayer only? It's even worse that outside of online matches, I can't find anybody else to play the game with me besides my brother. Unlike Mario Kart 8, I can't play Smash 4 all that much since the single player experience is very weak and I don't see myself playing it a lot later on.It's okay, but I do find myself having quite a lot of issues with it. I agree. Smash Tour looks like it was designed for multiple human players, but I'm the only person in my entire family who actually finds video games interesting, and I can't stand how the CPUs always seem to use their debuffs on me, me, and only me.I think it's the best game I've ever played. Basically nothing I played before tops it; beautiful graphics, epic songs, nice modes (except for Smash Tour. Ugh), the good ol' Nintendo encyclopedia, a great gameplay and the Nintendo touch.
Classic Mode on the Wii U version really did suck. First time I played around with the mode, I wasn't even all that impressed with it. Don't even get me started on the extreme lack of Break the Targets. That was always fun to me & they got rid of it.I love Smash Run and Classic Mode on the 3DS version, but I didn't really like Smash Tour and Classic Mode on the Wii U version that much.![]()
I think I sort of get why Sakurai and co. decided to have some really difficult challenges in Smash Wii U. There are a bunch of people who like that stuff (which is totally fine, more power to you if you do) and having tougher ones can in theory help replay value. That said, I personally found some, like clearing classic at 9.0 without losing a stock or doing something super tough with a character I don't use much, hard enough that I'd sooner just not even bother with them rather than try to complete them. I'd be interested to see how challenges are handled in a future Smash given the dramatically different approaches that Smash 3DS and Smash Wii U took to them.Took the words out of my mouth.
Overall, I'd say it's better than Brawl from a game-play standpoint, but is now lacking in other areas that it really shouldn't be. I found playing the majority of the single player modes a huge chore, which is something I have not felt in previous Smash Bros. games I've completed. In fact, I still have not completed some of the challenges simply because they (to me) feel dreadful and tedious to even attempt, and if something in a game is going to make me feel that way, then to me, it isn't worth it until a later date. I think Classic Mode has veered way too far off the path, and the random 8-Player Smash fights that land on the most gimmicky of stages gets me every time. the game lacking Break the Targets is also disappointing to me, especially since Smash Tour feels a wee bit rushed to me.
Yeah, I didn't like how Classic Mode on the Wii U version became too chaotic. I agree that Break the Targets was fun, but if Sakurai ever decide to bring it back for future Smash game, then I hope it's similar to the one from Melee.Classic Mode on the Wii U version really did suck. First time I played around with the mode, I wasn't even all that impressed with it. Don't even get me started on the extreme lack of Break the Targets. That was always fun to me & they got rid of it.
