Not everybody I know likes it, but I'm pretty fond of the new announcer. The only menu option I don't like is the way he says "MULTI-MAN SMASH!". I like the knockback effects (sparks and red lightning), Ness' new bat crack sound effect. Also, generally the art direction they took when building the UI, menus, character screens, and trophy shop.

I like the game a lot. I love the stage selection and the great variety of characters. I love how some characters got buffs like Ness (since he was always pretty low in the tier list but that all changed in Smash 4) but didn't like how some got nerfs such as Marth. I still play him regardless.
I don't like Smash Tour too much. I find it really boring but my niece loves it.
Other than that I think it's a great game.

I don't know, I get my Wii u Monday. So.. I'll let you know my first impressions then, and then after a month or so, my real impression.

I genuinely enjoy the game. I have a lot of fun playing with my friends. Competing in tournaments is a blast and made me take a break from competitive Halo and Pokémon.

I just wish there were more online options and features. I wish there was a ranking system so I can consistently fight people my skill level. It somewhat annoys me when I fight a terrible player one game and the next I fight an actual good opponent. I just want more consistency.

I also want ranked matches and social matches where you fight people your skill level in ranked and you fight people of all skill levels with no penalty to losing in social matches.

Online is also a bit choppy at times and inputs mess up but most of the time is fine.

So hyped for Tournament Mode!

Really great game. Every character is fun to play in unique ways, the soundtrack has some terrific new additions, and the game overall is impressively well balanced. It disappoints me that we didn't get an Adventure Mode, but the way Crazy Orders, Classic Mode, and All Star were handled all makes up for this I think. Online is way better than it was in Brawl, in part because of the netcode itself, but also because of the addition of For Glory 1v1, which is a super easy way to find somebody to test your skills against. The customization in this game is also a lot of fun to play around with and further diversifies ways I can play the game.

Things I don't like: Grinding for all of the custom moves takes a really long time. Equipments are all randomized upgrades rather than concrete sidegrades, making them inherently unfair. No adventure mode. I wish there was a little more hitstun so stringing combos together was easier. The board game and smash run are dumb. I guess that's about it.
