What DK Should Have Been

If you haven’t heard of a game called <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=q7ugFXbuvlU" target="_blank">Donkey Kong Jungle Beat</a>, then you’re missing out on the greatest platforming game of last gen. I can understand why it flew under the radar. The game was played with the Nintendo Bongos. If you have any cash lying around, I suggest you go out now and buy it now.

The new DK looks alright. I don’t’ know why he has to look so mangy. What’s most disappointing is, following the trend of the other veteran characters, DK’s move set is largely the same.

Now, I can only hope for an alternate costume and interchangable move sets so I can play DK in his full glory.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat was DK’s greatest game. I’ve made my peace with the current Kong. He looks nearly identical to the DK I wanted, so there’s nothing to complain about. It’s your move Sakurai.

DK looks really badass… dont know why but i dont like it much.. i think he should look more like… i dont know… maybe happy and stupid.
(I Love DK!! it’s just my opinion.. maybe is just in the pictures i’ve seen.. the second were he’s clapping looks great.)
Anyway… he was great in smash for N64, he was great in melee, i think he will be great in brawl but i agree, nothing new about DK, it would be great to see something a little diferent but there’s A LOT to still be said about every character dont you agree? so maybe we can still see a few surprises about this silly Monkey =]

I think your overreacting with the Kong. The new kong looks cool, and while Jungle beats Kong was more fuzzy and fun the new kong fits in with the theme as well as the characters. All the characters if you look at them look mor subdued or mangy (minus pikachu and kirby). I think it helps in making all the characters fit in. Plus most of brawl will be zoomed out to fit in all characters so you won’t see Kong up close. His alternate costume will probably just be a change of colors for his necktie as well as fur color.

Dont get me wrong, I love DK! And i also think all this pictures of characters that are revealed are intencionally made so that they all look kind of badass.. it fits the spirit of the game that’s for sure!

yeah yeah yeah like his FINAL SMASH still remains to be seen. I’m thinking DK suddenly pops out a bunch of barrel cannons and start shooting across the stage.

Dk’s final smash? Let him pop out a set of bongos and rock the socks off any of the nearby players!

What about a move that not only hits the targets, but causes a brief earthquake which topples items and makes the screen shake, possibly stunning foes on the same platform that the move was executed. That could also be done with a set of bongos.

Dk64? You mean the supreme collectathon clone of Mario 64. That thing gave us the Dk rap which ended on melee. How can you force your self to tolerate that game?

Lol Falco, my friend had that game and if memory serves me right, I would always ask to play the game just to rack up a score on the original Donkey Kong.

You mean like a original Donkey Kongish stage, maybe it’ll be like Mario’s target test(which resembles the game) only with no targets and barrels that periodically rooling across the stage. It would help support the arial combat in the game.
