What comes first, the milk or the cereal?

#1 So I purchased a book yesterday: The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks and I must say that it is pretty d@mn good! It explains what one can do during an outbreak, what to carry when traveling, avoid getting spotted, so much s#!+ that it makes me comfortable that if an actually outbreak were to happen that I would be pro(maybe) at surviving such a f***ed up environment!

So, would you guys be prepared if such a thing did happen? What will you do?

Current Question!

Do you pour the milk or the cereal first?!

OMG! It was at night and I was freaking out a little! Especially after just watching 28 Weeks Later! I remember something about hearing sirens then seeing the Emergency Broadcasting System on tv! That conversation was intense!

My buddy jason has a stockpile of ammunition to go with his... GUNS.

We're going to, "Mountain Ranch", where we'll tend the livestock and live the agrarian lifestyle.

And I think, Atlus, you have to clarify what kind of zombies we're dealing with here. Dawn of the Dead zombies or Night of the Living Dead zombies (these are the only two types of zombies that matter).

I cannot expand upon what I'd do in case of zombie breakout unless we clarify the zombie type.

Well, the outbreak that we see in Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days/Weeks Later can't be classified as zombies! Zombies don't run at all! They don't shriek or scream because they moan! Also, a person that gets bitten by one usually dies afterward then gets reanimated!

Riddle me this batman: George A. Romero makes Night of the Living Dead, spawning the "ZOMBIE" franchise.

Everything else "zombie" related is based on his original creation.

So if the creator of "zombies" decides that they should be reinvented to be more terrifying, by making them faster and loud and ****, shouldn't we examine the core components of "zombies"?

1. Originally dead then re-animated.
2. Craving for live humans.
3. Able to spread disease/virus/whateveryouwanttocallit through bites.
4. No cognitive abilities.

"But NK! Vampires fall under that type of classification too!" a smartass who likes exclamation marks might say. The fourth core component battles that **** easily.

So in short, don't be a narrow-minded troll.

If the whole world is taken over by zombies, eventually everyone will die or turn into a zombie, leaving nothing else to feast on. Eventually you will live hungering for flesh for the rest of your life. I suppose zombies could then turn to eating animals. But with the majority of the world's population being zombies, that supply would not last long which eventually results in eternal hunger. Either that or zombies would get eaten by the more hostile animals.

Disagree.

A zombie breakout can be contained if proper actions are taken.

You act as if we would be helpless against the zombie plague.

I bet you're still a virgin aren't you? Thought so.

EDIT:

Wrong Pocky. Those aren't zombies, they lack the 4th core component that would classify them as a zombie.

I was just talking bout zombie life being crappy from this.

is life as a zombie really that bad?

Walking around looking for live flesh 24/7! Kinda eh . . .

Going to a mountain terrain is actually pretty good! Of course you would have to be in an area were it would be secluded and not near any roads otherwise other people would find out your settlement! If you're living on a slope then the area would be much easier to protect because zombies suck at climbing! The drawback from living on mountains is that you might be far off from resources! Also, your livestock might get easily startled and run off!

do zombies look for food based on smell?
or they rely solely on some sort of sight.
cause that hill thing would work as long as u arent seen, but if they can smell ya then what...
also, do they have some sort of communication?

you'd be surrounded with cow poop so that could mask the odor somewhat

on the other hand don't zombies go for animals too?

i was under the impression that zombies didn't attack animals
(i.e. dawn of the dead)

animals just tend to get infected some way or another

I don't think zombies actually eat animals either (unless there are no humans). Most likely animals would eat zombies once they were killed, thus spreading the infection to them.

cause OBVIOUSLY animals can't play host to a disease and NOT exhibit symptoms... *COUGH*BLACKPLAGUE*COUGH.

When dealing in absolutes, make sure you're absolutely right.

is this a viral outbreak, or a "hell is full so people cant die they just reanimate" sort of zombie apocalypse. The latter is more bad ***! Either way, i think surviving for a week or two would leave a lot of zombies in rigor, then it would be pretty safe.

BTW here is the pound 4 montage video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2UQWQgpU4E

sounds like you're mostly oblivious though

so it's not strictly worse than living in fear forever

Top 10 Lessons For Surviving a Zombie Attack! (From the book!)

1. Organize before they rise!

2. They feel no fear, why should you?

3. Use your head: cut of theirs.

4. Blades don't need reloading.

5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.

6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it.

7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike.

8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!

9. No place is safe, only safer.

10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on.

why not sail around, and only return to land to resupply on ammo/food

jus dont b a ****** and bring other survivors you find

unless they strip down naked and you can tell they're not infected

or you could be a real bad *** and jus leave em

Living by sea is possible, but it can be just as dangerous as living on land! You gotta know how to operate a boat in rough weather or else your gonna get r@ped by mother nature! You gotta know how to catch fish and cook it right! There is no doubt that there will be others that have the same idea, so you will need to worry about them later because all of you would be fighting for whatever resources you have on each others boats! There is no doubt that there are gonna be @$$wholes out in the sea and it's gonna turn into a Pirates of the Caribbean bull$#!+ Also, boats run on fossil fuels so you might eventually find yourself stranded out in sea!

That is good since zombies won't know how to reach you! The only thing I can find wrong with that is the psychological aspect of it! It's pretty much a jail cell so you are gonna have to have a head that's full of Zen! Also, don't s#!+ where you sleep!

true story

i know of a girl with long hair who was killing some zombies. The blood got on the very ends of her hair and the wind blew it into her eyes. Such caused an infection and she became a zombie in minutes!

the mall would prolly be the place to chill. I mean all you need is a mall with a legit sporting good store, like bass pro ore something, and you will be armed to the teeth. Every store has a gate, most malls have 2 or more stories. The biggest fail in dawn of the dead is leaving the fortress. I could live in the mall, no problem. You have food, video games, comics, movies, guns, and the mall near me even has a medieval times, so I would have plenty of swords as well.
