My problem with Zamus' appearance (and I can't really blame Brawl for this, since we've been seeing her out of her suit for years) is that she's far more Barbie-like than a space bounty hunter has any right to be, even if she is protected by robot armour most of the time. It's particularly jarring when you think that she was heavily inspired by Sigourney Weaver in the Alien movies. Mind you, any attempt to render a Sigourney-esque Samus in NES graphics would probably have made Samus' gender - the final twist to the game, no less - a little less obvious...
