What are your group's mains?

So a lot of people on these forums are in Elementary/High/College/University, and a lot of people just have a group they play with. The 3ds being portable, its easy to have a group you play with. So I was wondering, what groups do other people have? What "System" do they use for characters they play? What rules?

For my group, we have about 6 people, but usually 1-2 on't bring their 3ds so whoever loses switches off. I'll go in order from the best to worst. We are all about the same skill except for the last 2 (#6 just started and #5 is the most casual of us all, he isn't that good). We play 2-3 stock no items.

We always play stock, amounts change a lot (like, anywhere between 3 and 15 depending on our mood.)

If we have more players than controllers, the number of players that are waiting for a turn will be the amount of players that will pass on their controllers.

Like, say we have six players and four controllers. The players who got 4th and 3rd place will give their their controllers to the players who're not playing. If we have eight players and four controllers, everyone will move on, though we try to mix it up so it's not like there's two separate groups taking different turns at playing.

Usually the first 2 are the ones that we use like seriously but we also use a lot, sometimes Random only or Ganon only for fun.

It's interesting for my crew because we all main a different character. Going from top rank to last. Everyone plays on Wii U, but I'm proficient enough to handle my own on the 3DS if I ever forget to bring my GCC. Since we play different characters, matches against each other are always dynamic. We play 3 stock, Bo3 to rank up and Bo5 for the 1-3 spots.

Haha no, they only use them in Free for All to goof around by pocketing each other's trees. They are good as though.

Friend 1 and I are evenly skilled when we use our mains(Dr. Mario/Link).
We are the most competitive 1v1, 2-5 stock battles.

Friend 2 is my choice for team matches. Team Kirby!

Friend 3 and 4 are my online buddies.
Friend 3 and I love to pick Palutena's temple(not omega) for 1v1
We usually play for fun(items included), but we get pretty serious 1v1, 3 stocks.
I recently played with friend 4, but we have yet to sm4sh 1v1. His Mii fighters were hilarious tho

I play with four other people pretty regularly, three of them I've known since high school and the other one is my co-worker.
My main: Mario
Secondaries: Charizard and Bowser. I feel that they cover Mario's weaknesses pretty well. I consider myself equal if not slightly better than my co-worker.

Co-worker's main's: Pikachu, Sheik, Ganandorf, and Falcon
He is pretty good and picked up the new game pretty quickly. I use to destroy him but he steadily improved until he would win more often. I win a little more now though since I've learned to combo more effectively and use the FLUDD. His Sheik is pretty good.

Fern's mains: Bowser Junior, and Kirby
He used to be better than me but he took a couple months off so he lost some skill. I've never fought a better Bowser Junior or Kirby.

Dan the rat's main's: Charizard and Captain Falcon
He used to be really good at project M but the removal of most of the techs he learned turned him off from this game
