weird side-b reverse ledgecancel-ledgegrab(??)

it's a mouthful to describe--

I was back towards to ledge & I side b'd towards the computer, I don't quite remember how it reacted, but hitting it/or w/e the animation came out and I got pushed INSTANTLY into ledgegrabbing.

anyone know why/how this happens?

doesn't seem too useful (except for a once a set mind game or something), but it's pretty intriguing

Uhh... no idea.

My guess would have to be that Raptor Boost goes somewhat backwards at the beginning of the attack, maybe that's the reason. At least in Brawl, no idea in Melee. Just let Room or Windrose or any other Falcons answer. They know more about Falcon than I do. lmfao.

Sideb has a set time of lag before you can grab it so
It's totally plausible to catch the ledge off of

You're saying you

hit it with side b -> got pushed away -> IMMEDIATELY ledgegrabbed?
Or you just got pushed away -> ledgegrabbed like a second later

I side b'd towards the center of the stage with my back towards the edge (like I had just got back with a regular get up)- -

I don't think it connected/or the comp might've had invincibility but I just got pushed back onto the ledge instantly halfway through the attack.

i know about this

pretty common if you do up-throw spacie close to the edge then you run at the edge and forward-b inside

if they do NOT tech inwards and instead tech in place or tech backwards and you side-b, their invincible teching body will cause you to 'whiff' and fall safely onto the edge
