Okay, I just got a Dazzle to record my matches and put them online and this is one video I couldn't wait to get online.

It was an online Team Battle match. It wound up going to Sudden Death, and I (Ike) Killed Peach with the flaming sword move, then killed Toon Link with the 4th forward and B move I attempted.

However, when this was replayed it didn't end up the same way. As you'll see weird things happened once it was replayed.

Anyone else have things like this happen?

I've had it happen to me once. An Online Match which ended in Sudden Death between me and a luigi player. The Sudden death (When I was playing in the match) Ended with Luigi sitting in the middle of the stage, and the bob-ombs finished him off (he didn't bother to dodge). The match ended with me being the winner, and I saved the Replay, thinking it was odd he stopped moving and took a bomb to the face without bothering to dodge.

When I played the replay everything was right until the sudden death, and it said I was in a different spot in the replay (took me a while to find, but I found it placed me differently between the match and the sudden death), so all the moves I did were from a different location, and ended with me losing at the end by flying straight off the arena.

sadly I don't have the replay anymore, since I figured it would never fix.

I think it has also happened in other replays, but on custom stages, where the matches themselves played out differently.

Yeah, I've heard of other stories like that too but ONLY on custom replays. This was an actual Brawl stage, so that's what was even odder about it.

You said you thought it was strange the Luigi Just stayed put and took the bomb and you won. Perhaps he won on his side? Would be funny to see two different outcomes on two different Wiis.

That is my assumption at the moment. I played the Replay through a lot of times and didn't see the results change; The custom stage ones (and yours as well) changed. The weird thing is that when I was playing in the match, my placing on the field for the match and the sudden death remained unchanged. But the replay changed my spot on the field in sudden death.

It was on the battlefield stage, and I started the match on the right platform, started sudden death on the right platform. In the replay, I started on the Right platform in the match, but started sudden death at center stage (Which is why when I watched the replay, I Crouched twice at center stage at the beginning of the Sudden Death, but that was me getting off the right platform in the actual match.)

As for when luigi stopped moving, I thought he was waiting for an opening, to see if I'd try charging at him, so I stayed back and the bombs started dropping. In the replay it says I died way before the bombs appeared. XD

haha isn't it though? I love how every comment on youtube doesn't even comment on the weirdness, just they didn't know it rained bombs in sudden death. -_-;;

I think they completely missed the point of what you were trying to say. It was like they thought you were saying that it raining bombs was the strange part. That was kinda freaky though. Some kinda glitch.

Yup, if you pay close enough attention, you'll see The Checkpoint stand it next to Zelda in the 1st take, and next to Link in the 2nd. Still doesn't explain how I got all the way off screen though. I really don't remember tripping in the original play of it...

This is easily explained. Brawl does not save the replays as actual videos. What Brawl saves them as is code. Therefore what you see is not what you did, rather it's what two CPUs are programmed to do. Any minor discrupency totally changes the outcome of the "replay" and thus you get your result.

This is also why Brawl replays will never be able to be uploaded as snapshots are.

Edit: Your "error" could have been lag, which is not "recorded" into replays.

lol of course I know it doesn't save the actual videos. good point on the possibility of lag effecting it. I don't remember tripping at all, and the checkpoint stand is in a different place.

I still want to try to find out the problem with mine, unfortunately in my situation I would have had to be filming the match as I was playing and then the have the replay afterward.

this exact same thing happened to me and my friend last night, we replayed a team match we had with computers(studying our mistakes and such you know).

at the beginning everything went just like it was, but then i just stopped moving and the comp killed my partner(this didnt happen in the real match,) then i just get smashed and finished(this didnt happen either!)

after that my friend just runs off and suicides, it was really really creepy. in the real match we 2 stocked em, in this one we just died. we replayed it again and it was the real replay, with us winning and doing the right moves.

i got soooo creeped out i was a little scared to drive home lol, thought it might have been a premonition or something

note: my match wasnt even online

Right, but the problem here is the bob-bombs... Bob-bombs spawn randomly on the stage but the replay doesn't save their position where they spawn so each time you replay the replay, they will spawn randomly so the outcome will always be different. You can check where they are on each version in this video and you will see the difference even if it look similar at first glance.
