Smash Wii U We might have even more "Alt" trophies to collect on Wii U...

Unlike Classic Mode in past games, Smash Wii U's Classic mode sometimes has characters wear alt costumes, even if you're not fighting duplicates. However, on the board in between matches, the fighters are portrayed as trophies. If an opponent is to be wearing an alt, their trophy on the board portrays them in said alt. Not only that, but in a different pose too, compared to their normal trophy, and compared to the "Alt" trophies on 3DS (for example, Rosalina's "Alt" trophy on 3DS portrays her in the red alt, dancing with Luma. The one above portrays her in the "White Mage" alt, using Gravitational Pull).

So could this mean we have more "Alt" trophies to collect on Wii U? If so, I wonder how we get them. It can't be All-Star mode, since that gets you the Final Smash trophies on Wii U. They could simply be random, like the Koopaling and Alph trophies on 3DS.

Furthermore, I wonder if they will do one for every single alt. Considering how they said the Wii U version will have a good deal more trophies than 3DS, it wouldn't be too far fetched. Giving every fighter's alts an individual trophy would be an easy way to beef up the amount of trophies to collect, since the models already exist for the purpose of gameplay.

I hope not. Having to hope a trophy is the alt you need for a missing trophy would be annoying. Playing the game mode over and over till this happens.

Why should playing one game unlock anything on a 2nd different game?

I think at the least, all hidden fighters should be unlocked on Wii U if you link to your 3DS and it recognises you have all fighters on 3DS, and vice versa (for those who get the Wii U version first). It's kind of annoying that I have to unlock DHD again, as he is one of my mains.

I also believe you should be able to trade your gold, equipment, and custom moves between versions. I have over 50,000G on 3DS, and nothing to spend it on (and have not spent much in ages). And my spare equipment that I don't equip to my characters could be fed to my Yoshi Amiibo that I plan to get on the Wii U release (though at least I will be able to do this with later Amiibos, when Amiibo support is enabled for 3DS).

It would also make up for the fact that custom moves and equipment are mostly randomly generated.

...Though that's all off topic.

Because it's doing the same ****ing thing twice?
Not exactly. You'll earn the trophies in totally different ways in SSB WiiU. And there is no smash run to earn trophies on the WiiU.

There is a solution. If you don't want to do it 2x, then do not play SSB WiiU, then you never have to ear the trophies again.

I agree with the Amiibo part. But the character's part I do not agree. Just earn them again on the WiiU. It will not be hard to do so. And you'll get to learn better how the WiiU plays smash. That little bit of practice is fun. Also the unlocking a character matches (though mostly easy) are an experience that some of us really look forward too.

I have an abnormal love for grinding so this honestly makes me happy.

it would appear to be charizard

anyway did none of you notice during the direct there were some trophies of the fighters in alt?
I noticed, but was too lazy to go back for a screenshot at the time. It was in some Photo Studio shots.

I recall one of Luigi in his pink alt, and I think he was doing his dash attack. However, his Alt Trophy on 3DS is Fire Luigi doing his down taunt.

So that basically confirms we have at least one new alt trophy for each character.

Or that the 3DS has different alt trophies to the WiiU.

...Which is still a new "alt trophy".

But we know they have to be obtained in a different manner, since again, All-Star on Wii U gets us Final Smash trophies.

Why are people on this forum always so passive-aggressive? You probably even think you're being smart with this lol.

I just said things how they are. Not trying to be smart ass (as you put it), I was just telling the truth. The facts are, earn the trophies again on the WiiU if you want to do that on the WiiU or do not play the WiiU version. This is not passive-aggressive.

He got angry for having to earn things again on the WiiU. And I just said, that's how it is. Either like it and do it or don't like it and don't do it. His choice.

Well the better answer is "if you really don't want to get all of the trophies for characters in Classic Mode again, don't do it and focus on the things you do wanna do in the Wii U version". You don't have to 100% every game you get. Me personally, I only 100% games that I either really like, or give a really nice reward for doing so.

...With that being said, I will be 100%'ing Smash Wii U. I'm actually pretty close to doing so on 3DS.

It would actually be nice to have alternate fighter trophies, much like with how Smash 3DS handled them, though I will have to question how you'll be able to get them. I'm quite sure that All-Star mode will give you Final Smash trophies after all.

Also, the trophy stands are silver-colored, instead of the usual gold coloring.

Note: For those who are wondering about the trophy that's behind Jigglypuff, it's apparently a green Charizard who is using Rock Smash.

I think the trophies color changes each time you play classic. The pose stays the same, but the color pallete changes. Maybe. Not certain.

Zelda's pose is her new taunt they added.

I miss her prayer pose. :/

I don't really want to grind the same modes for the same characters to get those trophies, but collecting is addicting and I also love trophies, so if I must, then I WILL. :colorful:

I'm the same. I don't like grinding, but if SSB4 WiiU is as fun as I think ti is, then I'll want to play the modes more and the grind will not hurt as much as it otherwise would.
