Are you sure that's it? Because I'm pretty sure the first line is "Audi famam illius" which means "listen to his story," and not "alii fama" which means "another's story."

I took my translation directly from the other thread about the lyrics. At the time the lyrics were given as well but in that thread it said 'rivales' instead of 'vivales', so I think someone made a mistake in the interpretation of the lyrics. Still, what do you think would be more suitable; 'rivales' or 'vivales'?

Basically, what I had before is correct, here it is all together. Basically sounds like one of those J-Pop songs that appear at the end of an episode of an anime, in terms of content. I can confirm that tis is the correct literal translation of the verses, but likely whatever will appear in the American game will be different due to how latin is translated.

Your translation seems right to me, I went through the lyrics once again myself (it seems the lyrics I had when I translated for the first time indeed had some inaccuracies), and most of your translation seems perfectly fine to me, although the part 'who destroying touched and ran' sounds kind of strange in English. Also, what made you so sure that it should have been 'her' on the second 'illius'?

Gaaah, this is is a great translation as well! You see, the problem with translating Latin is, that there are many different ways to translate words. I could be wrong on this, but as far as I know, 'audi famuam illius' could mean 'I heard this tale/rumor' as well as 'hear his tale'.

But just like you said, all the translations sound great, and although there are different translations, they mostly give the same message.

I'm just glad I could at least be of little help in translating!

At the end, "my allies" sound like all the characters in the game.

At the beginning, the man who ran destroying all that he touched could be the Ancient Minister, with the black holes and such, but with the giving me hope and fear line, it almost sounds like Master Hand.

A long time ago I heard a theory about the smash world, in which the Master and Crazy hands were just a child playing with toys (as seen in the SSB64 opening movie), so that would seem to make sense. Especially since the playable characters don't seem to be aware of this completely, thus "the rumor." Maybe more will become clear the more we find out about this Tabuu person? It does seem to hint towards the SSE more than anything else...

Then again "Goes among the enemy to save his fatherland" also sounds like what all the characters are doing in SSE, so it could just be everyone singing about what happened to everyone.

I'm guessing the second "illius" is feminine mainly because the second one the first time around most certainly was. I'm also 100% sure that it's "rivales" instead of "vivales," making the line more likely "who were once strong, living and rivals."

In terms of meaning, my guess is it vaguely refers to the coming together of all these characters to fight for something greater.
