Waveshine Help!

Hi,
The one thing that decides games for me is when I can wavedash out of my shine or not the day I'm playing. I can do it perfectly against computers, but for some reason, when playing people, I stay in my shine SO MUCH. This gets really irritating, as staying in your shine and messing up shield pressure = getting smashed or grabbed.

This is so frustrating. I've literally payed no attention to anything else when playing humans, just the timing of my waveshine, making it a bit slower, a bit faster each time, but STILL, I stay in my shine.

What am I doing wrong? I've tried pressing X a little later after b-down, etc, but I still stay in it.

EDIT: This basically led me to using u-tilts more than shine, even of FF'ers, just cause I'm scared of messing it up. Now a lot of people say my u-tilts are really good, but that's just a consequence of not being able to wavedash out of my shine consistently -_-

HELP PLEASE!

Do you play on diffrent TV's? I find myself changing the timing with anything I do when playing on different TV's.

But i honestly don't know what top say, just practice practice practice.

Getting stuck in your shine means that you're pressing jump too slowly after releasing B. You need to jump sooner or you'll get stuck in that shine drop animation.

Probably just nerves, since its against people and all. Just play against people more
Yeah, I'll have to side on this one. That and it's simply pressing the jump too late. Just play people more and you'll get used to the pressure of waveshining away.

or too early... it's entirely possible to hit jump while you're still in hitlag.

Practice...Practice...Practice...Practice..., you practice it so much that it just becomes instinct, you notice happen in game soon enough. I had the same problem before, my only problem now is doing it going backwards, my fingers don't seem to be quick enough not to just turn around. LOL

you have to put the control stick back to the neutral position, then jump then wavedash.

I don't turn around in my shine. I can also waveshine backwards fine, although I try that less during human matches. When I'm having a good day, I'll stay in my shine only once or twice per night, but if I'm having a bad day, I will literally stay there for 80 percent of the time.

I used to have that problem until I started to use Y instead of X,it feels a little awkward at first but it helps you get to B faster.

Just wanted to point out that there's no such thing as jumping out too slow. You can hold shine for 5 minutes before jumping out if you want. And you don't even need to release B so there's no reason you should ever get stuck in the shine drop animation. If you get stuck it means your jumping too soon. Good to see you (OP) figured it out though.

This is scary. The next time I played, I paid attention to the sound of my controller while I was waveshining. I tried to make it sound like popcorn, and now I get it every time LOL

Turns out the way I was waveshining before only worked on computers using Down-B....................XR
I changed the timing to Down-B+X+R with almost even time between each button press

...and it worked

Same exact problem and I was told the same exact thing yesterday about my uptilts. I'll try the even timing thing and see if it works, I don't really understand the popcorn timing lol.

the timing of when you can jump/wavedash out of ur shine differs between when you hit nothing or if u hit a character/shield.
if you hit something, then you need to press jump a tiny bit later.

the other thing it might be is if you turn around before you wavedash, you'll get stuck as well.

edit: whoops, didn't read u already solved ur problem lol
