Behold, a video that may give all of us hope, a video that shows evidence of something that looks awefully similar to.... wavedashing. Watch Samus at 2:00.

My friend and I have speculated that what HugS does is he dashes and then put up his shield afterwhich he continues to slide a ways. Feel free to speculate and/or give your own opinions.

Sorry, I don't whine. Its not in. That sure does look like the new aerial system though.

I hear Peach still has wavedashing. Maybe you could main her?

Or you could learn how to play the game without using bugs?

OH.
Wow. Just...wow. For once, I think 5150's comments are well-merited in this instance.

At any rate. Wavedashing is out, Sin. Hell, we're not even sure that wavelanding is going to remain. Either way, it's not a big deal.

Mods, close this topic.

First off, he was in his sheild, and got hit with a turnip, so he slid. Wavedashing (From Melee) is out of Brawl. Though we may find techniques similar to Wavedashing, WD is out, so don't restart conversation about it please.

And Ruggeth, just don't speak anymore.

lol guys chill. I never said it was the same kind of WD as in Melee. But it looks very similar to a wavedash and may be repeatable and have some sort of use in combat?

In the original smash brother there was a Wavedash like manuver that was done by pressing R and holding for a moment, it made you slide, but not like wavedashing did, it wasnt as fast, it was only as fast as the begining of the dash animation. similar to the fox trot in melee.

This seems to have cancelled the letter half of the dash animation by pressing sheild but still maintaining momentum. (thats what i saw and i could be VERY wrong). it doesn't seem as usefull as WD but it just might have a use nice find.

You mean, he dashes left, crouches/pickups up an peach and puts up shield? What's your point? that's not a wavedash, not even close.
