Electricity doesn't spread to much in water. When electric eels generate electricity, it spreads I think about 5 feet. It wouldn't get every one on stage. Its an easily fixed problem.

And underwater stage (maybe from Super Mario) would definately be cool, but alot of fire moves and projectiles and stuff would be killed. And if they still worked it would be so stupid seeing FIRE in WATER. We all know that doesn't work very well.

If Sakurai could find a way to make this work, that would be so amazing. And also like someone send, fish swimming on and off the screen could be platforms. I'd also like to think that they'd swim slow, so you could LIVE lol.

Also, how would you get knocked off? The sides and top?

Something like slow motion mode but a tad faster maybe. I like the idea about using fish as platforms. But characters like Bowser wouldn't be able to use fire unless they defy physics so we probably won't see a stage like this.
Have you ever played melee?!?! It's not like they can jump while already in the air, while in the air throw themselves into the ground to produce a sliding animation, or get hit at who knows how many hours per hour and be able to influence the direction their moving in to be able to grab a flat surface and almost completely stop their momentum.

Maybe to make it look less weird, b moves can't be used underwater? i know some a attacks still use things like fire, or electricity, but meh, not like you could use thunder with pikashoo or firebreath with boozer.

i think it would be cool if when characters get into water their clothes get damper, or darker, and when they get out it would dry over time

or if say someone like link gets into the water, he changes into his zora armor, or kirby would put on his snorkeling mask

Yes!

Torvus Bog for Brawl! I think that the water will function similarly to normal physics, just that the characters will be slowed down (think Metroid) in deep water.

Water Stages sound good... but i'm sort of scared for a traumatic experience for Sonic (If he is in once again). For unlike other characters, he can't swim. (cue STH series Drowning music!)

I hear that. But Iron boots would slow him down. But who cares, in smash, a whole character can be metal and still double jump...so, I think it'll work out.

p.s. OFF TOPIC: I'm thinking of downloading Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the wii's virtual console-is it a good game?

i was also thinking that maybe it could like a scroll stage like rumble falls or the can be underwater vortex that sucks you in then you drown idk there are several possibilities
