I know Daisy and waluigi are filler characters but...they are indeed nintendo characters whoo lately got very original, unlike how they were before (waluigi being a luigi/wario clone like, and daisy being peach clone like), but after a few games, both of them got really unique characters. Maybe they hadnt appeared in a game outside sports and party games (except for daisy, who appeared in a mario game remplacing peach, and in the Mario bros. movie, which sucked). Anyway, though I dont believe they'll make it in brawl, they could be original and fun caracters to play with, without being clones.
Waluigi using bombs (said to be his favorite thingy), the piranha plant (his partner in one party game), and oviously his vine powers and vine whip. Also he could have like a little more range on his normal attacks, you know, becouse he has long arms and legs.
Daisy could oviously use her daisy flowers and crystal powers, like shooting a shiny light ball with flower petals coming out of it (representing all of her ball related specials in sport games), levitation with flower petals around her (from the basketball games, was it hoops 3 on 3?), or the crystal smash from strikers, and that crystal punch attack. She could even be a very powerful character (shown in her character development throughout the years, she is tom-boyish, stronger than peach and other mario characters, very energetic, and even sended bowser flying with a single punch in a party game).
