This match is probably the most tense match I have ever had in my life. My hands were shaking so bad. Scary.

I think I got the Sheik MU down. Would appreciate some critique on the Rosalina and Diddy since I'm not very familiar with them.
Question: Can you group the videos by player? It's starting to looked a little cluttered. It can be its own category if you want.

The quality isn't all that great and the camera loses focus on occasions, sorry about that. Also, I know that in many places I made input errors, so when you see me doing a random jab in an opposite direction, that was supposed to be a reversed ftilt or smash (I hate the circle pad still).

Finally, in some matches, like the one vs Greninja in the min 2:50 you'll see that my grab misses while I'm clearly within grab reach and the chain even goes through Greninja. This happens quite a lot to me and this is what I meant when I said on the other thread that Link's grab reach seems to be shorter than the visual representation of the chain, so that's very annoying for me since I tend to miss occasional grabs like that.

The quality was good enough mate.

About Link's grab though, I thought it was already confirmed that the reach was shorter than the actual visual representation? I pretty much only grab out of shield when I'm guaranteed a successful grab, too risky outside of that for me.

I know it's been confirmed, and I try that as well, but there are cases when I feel that I'm well within range based on prior experiences or from training memory, and I miss, as in that greninja. I as almost sure that I was within range. All I'm saying is that I still struggle with that since there are times when I'm almost sure that I'll land the grab but I miss. Sucks.

The only problem I see with that FSK is what would happen if the opponent gets up with an attack, or rolls? I mean, it looks as they have enough time to do that, so it wouldn't be a real lock since it could be escapable after the nair (or ftilt after nair which would be where the combo could end).

It's possible, but not sure since they're not hitting the stage but bouncing on it and I think that you can only tech when you hit the stage during hitstun.

No they can't tech or roll, its like a jab-lock with forced get-up. You can't tech a footstool and the nair makes it a forced get up.

The only uncertainty is the grounded footstool, if the mechanics are the same as in brawl then this is a true lock. That part needs more testing with a human player that tries to get out of it.

Just want some critique/analysis to see where I'm at. Feel like I've really improved over the past month.

The first thing that comes to mind that you seemed to do a lot (and I do too) is dedicate yourself to your stabs, fsmash, and bomb-drop>dair. These are all things that leave you spending a lot of time attacking nothing. Sonic and Fox are both characters that you really can't be wasting that type of energy on. I'm guessing the lag had a lot to do with it, but it's still something to make sure you try to avoid in your matches. I haven't watched the Rosaluma or Jiggz videos yet, so I might edit this afterwards.

....Yeah. I tend to do that (although I think you must be mistaken about the bomb-drop>dair, unless you're talking about yourself as well). The intended effect is to keep the opponent at bay or bait them into doing an attack. Of course, the lag sometimes messes me up, but I can bear with it pretty well. Note: in the Jiggs match, there was a lag spike near the end, which killed me.

...Why do I get the feeling I've received this advice before? Odd...

Your Link isn't half-bad! From looking at these 2 matches, it seems you like getting in those early Dair kills, and I like how you used your Nairs offstage. Don't know if that match was laggy or not, but try not to whiff a whole lot with those grabs and tilts. At around 1:23 on the ROB match, you had him going in a loop for a bit with utilt, but you got hit out of it. Utilt>Usmash would've helped there since the usmash would've beaten his Dair and then you could've nailed him with Uair. I liked that ledge jump bomb throw in the Lucina match at 0:26, but I think you should try to use bombs more. They are a great tool, especially in this game, since you can toss-cancel with them, start combos, and lots of other things.

Here's the first of two games I played. Went well, the casters were constantly surprised at my Link's skill which was funny to hear. xD
The Jigglypuff game that followed was very slow due to lag and really threw me off, unfortunately.

@ _Relapse_ The marth is basically holding backwards right after they have done the fowards aerial. Therefore instead of moving towards the opponent marth will float backwards.


EDIT: Link can also cancel the airdodge lag from a ledge jump as well.

Only watched the Elessar matches so far and you were on top for the most part. Your Dsmashes were great,almost all of the connected. Also always admired how you incorporated Z-air into your recovery game,it's something I always thought I should give a try when recovering.

He did use Link when we fought. I just don't know if he has uploaded them yet.
@ Elessar did you record all the fights where you use Link (vanilla and custom Link)? If so, are you gonna upload them? If not, I'll upload them myself since I've recorded some of those matches, about 4 I think.

I didn't record them, sorry. I've stopped recording most matches I play since it takes a lot of time to record and upload them and I'm a bit short on time atm. What was happening was that after playing matches with people I'd end with close to 10 matches, or more, and didn't have time to record all of them, so I stopped. Sorry. Feel free to upload them though, no worries.

Also, my Lucina is still developing, so I always try to play a couple of matches with her since I still need more MU experience. I learned my Lucina by playing vs players who weren't that good here in my local community, so I have a lot of bad habits with her still that I'm trying to get rid of.
