I'm saying that Rake "revealing" that his restriction wasn't confirmed to him via PM, but admittedly confessing to it, is probably the dumbest thing scum can do. You're clearly TRYING not to give Rake enough credit here.

I frankly am not giving Rake any credit, and rightly so. You're suggesting one of many possible scenarios: equally likely is the scenario in which Zen lies to Rake with the idea of "what he doesn't know will seem genuine" as someone on the scum team, or the same as town, or this was Rake's botched attempt at explaining away the restriction and making Zen take the burden instead of him if he was aware of the faking.

People make mistakes, even with gambits or restrictions as we've seen with Zen's post out of restriction. I don't intend to play the guessing game with intent and circumstance rather than seal it away.

I think Rake claim would be a good idea, and people you think are scum/reads list. I'm not going to lie about it, I wouldn't doubt Rake is going to die when the day is over.
